Amy and Tammy are the stars of the show while the series also follows the weight loss journey of their brother, Chris Combs. Season 3 of the show kicked off with a lot of drama. Throughout the seasons, Tammy has struggled with weight loss but in the third season she checks into rehab to work on her food addiction. But as soon as she starts making progress, she quits the facilities due to homesickness without completing her 100 lb weight loss goal. Tammy also announces that she restarted a physical relationship with her ex-boyfriend, Jerry Sykes who is not well-liked by her family and the viewers for cheating on his wife and enabling Tammy’s addiction.
Amy and Tammy also get into a fight because Amy and her husband decide to hire a nurse for Tammy which she takes as an attack on her autonomy. Tammy feels that her sister does not care about her opinions. In the third season, Tammy also starts dating Tiktoker Philip Redmond who shows an interest in only dating women over 300 lbs. Tammy’s family feels that Philip would obstruct her weight loss journey which she confirms by saying that he does not want her to slim down but she still stays angry at her family.
1000 Lb Sisters Season 3 Ending Explained
The ending of season 3 shows Amy being adamant about having a second baby in spite of the doctor’s warnings that she may gain all the weight she lost. She believes that she can lose weight and have a baby at the same time.
Tammy is still partaking in her bad habits of eating and partying too much. She is also struggling with a drinking problem which her family disproves. On Gage’s first birthday, Tammy gets jealous of Chris’ weight loss and calls Dr. Smith to explain her interest in going back to rehab. She says that she is willing to sit there for about 8 months. Her family approves of this development and they throw her a ‘bon voyage’ party. But her health worsens in rehab and she stops breathing suddenly so is rushed to the hospital and put under a medically induced coma. Upon waking up, she finds out she has lost 130 pounds and she goes back to rehab.
