Deviation From The Novel By Stephen King
As stated above, the series is inspired by Stephen King’s novel. The show follows the story of the novel which is 800 pages long but there is a slight difference: The series doesn’t have a voiceover to narrate the thoughts going on inside Jake’s mind like in the book. To overcome this, the creators of the show used Al as a compatriot to somehow still include Jake’s thoughts or the original narration in the book. Other than that, the show follows the same timeline with some changes since the show is only 8 episodes long while the novel is enormous.
