It is a war film and it chronicles the true story of a unit of U.S. Army Special Forces. The story revolves around the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks in 2001 and the army venturing into Afghanistan.

In Libya, 2012, at an unofficial CIA base in Benghazi, a group of ex-military contractors is providing security. A power vacuum exists in the aftermath of Gaddafi’s downfall while the atmosphere there is volatile. Military weapons are freely available. Chris Stevens the US Ambassador to Libya visits the area where he stays in a compound near the CIA base.

On 11 September 2012, hordes of heavily armed locals plan and attack the Ambassador’s compound is attacked at night. The six CIA contractors are the only forces willing and able to defend it. The movie is available to watch and is streaming on Prime Video.

‘Lone Survivor’ is a show taking place in Afghanistan just ike ’12 Strong’. Marcus Luttrell with Patrick Robinson wrote a non fiction book of the same name in 2007 told in the book the latter details the hunt undertaken by a bunch of SEAL officers in order to bring the dangerous Taliban leader Ahmad Shah down.

As the local Afghani elements help the army unit out, ’12 Strong’ features a large ensemble of characters. ‘Lone Survivor’ has a small cast although the thrills are more contained. The movie manages to pack a wallop in terms of the action. The movie is available to watch and is streaming on Prime Video.

Taliban did put some effort to gain respect from the local villagers especially elders to get help from them for stopping these skirmishes while being shot at was their usual business. But one fine day, a surprise attack was rallied by 400 Taliban.

Then it was unto them to leverage the poor defenses as they lacked manpower or choose to survive in order to go back to their near and dear ones. The movie is available to watch and is streaming on Prime Video.

‘Jarhead’ is a show directed by Same Mendes. Although it takes place in the Middle East, the Persian Gulf War remains its focused which was a result of the aftermath of Iraq invading Kuwait. The show is a biographical war drama film that is based on a book that details the experiences of the former U.S. Marine Anthony Swofford as a solider in the war. He wrote the book back in 2003.

Jarhead has its focus on the individual aspect of the war unlike 12 Strong which has its scope broad and expansive. The movie is available to watch and is streaming on Netflix.

A near-disastrous mission in Somalia that took place on October 3, 1993, is detailed in a best-selling book on which this action and war drama is based on. On this date, nearly 100 U.S. Army Rangers, commanded, ed by Capt. To capture two top lieutenants of a Somali warlord, helicopters dropped Mike Steele into the capital city of Mogadishu.

As a result of which a large and drawn out firefight took place amongst the Army Rangers, US Special Forces, and hundreds of Somali gunmen, which caused destruction of two U.S. Black Hawk helicopters. The heroic efforts of various Rangers to get to the downed helicopters remain the focus of the film and center on the leading Ranger unit Chalk Four to the first crash site, SSG Eversmann. It also centers its focus on Chief Warrant Officer Durant who was captured after being the only survivor of the second crash, as well as many others who were involved.
