The first episode of the Thierry Faber, Eric Lamhène, and Christophe Wagner-produced Luxembourgish crime drama series Capitani aired on RTL Télé Ltzebuerg on October 1, 2019. The Netflix streaming service launched the show elsewhere on February 11, 2021. The program was given a second season, which Wagner will once again helm and it started filming in March 2021. Capitani is both the first Netflix original series from Luxembourg and a crime drama.

In the north of Luxembourg, close to the made-up village of Manscheid (Mnscht), Jenny Engel, 15, is found dead in a forest. To look into the murder, Inspector Luc Capitani is summoned from the south of the nation. Young local police officer Elsa Ley offers him assistance. Capitani finds it challenging to handle the locals’ mindset.

The two discover that the villagers are more knowledgeable than they are willing to admit as they delve deeper into a complex web of intrigue during their research. Inspector Capitani must unravel a system in which many people are controlled for the “common good” in order to solve the case, which involves not only finding the murderer but also getting to know each resident’s thought process. Eight days pass while the story is being told.
