Going on since 2011 and with over 360 award nominations, out of which American Horror Story won 140 of them, it’s to no one’s shock and everyone’s delight that the show’s creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, and the cable network FX have announced 3 more installments-Season 11, Season 12 and Season 13.

American Horror Story is one of the most famous horror anthology series with 10 seasons already aired and well-loved by the public. Each season has been titled differently and follows a different storyline on its own. Season 10 was the last season to be aired before FX announced on January 20 of 3 more installments of AHS. American Horror Story Season 13 Storyline

Since all the previous seasons follow different storylines and all of them are also said to be based on loosely true events, we can surely have some terrifying new story that will have us shuddering, loving, and binge-watching it.

AHS anthology series usually has a new plot and new character every season. Its previous seasons were titled ‘Murder House’, ‘Asylum’, ‘Coven’, ‘Freak Show’ etc. We can successfully assume that something spooky is waiting in the store for us, while we await the Season 13 of AHS.

Each new Season of AHS has a new cast, whereas some old actors return to cast in the show too.

The very decorated and famous actress Jessica Lange who won 2 Emmys, a Screen Actor Guild Award, and a Golden Globe for her performances started in the first 4 seasons. The chances of her returning for season 13 are high.

Star Trek (1996) and Jurassic World (2018) fame James Cromwell won an Emmy for AHS season 2 ‘Asylum’, as did Kathy Bates, the very talented actress who portrayed Delphine LaLaurie in season 3 titled ‘Coven’.

Evan Peters who is also a producer of the show, along with Sarah Paulson who is one of the executive producers of the show, and Lily Rabe starred in 9 out of 11 seasons of the show so they remain the most speculated and expected stars to feature in season 13.

Frances Conroy (8 seasons) and Denis O’Hare (7 seasons) are among some popular probable names, we might see in season 13.

American Horror Story Season 13 Genre

If it’s not clear from the name, it’s a horror genre series with Drama and Thriller being an added touch to the series. Season 1 was about a Haunted House where a family moves in and Season 2 centered around a man, wrongly accused of murdering his wife and many other women and sent to an asylum and insanity around it.

Didn’t we all relate to Sister Jude’s famous dialogue- “The cruelest of all is false hope?” Yes, we also, like many users believe Season 2 is the scariest by far. Let’s see if Season 13 breaks that record. Season 3 titled ‘Coven’ is about a Coven of witches fending for themselves in the modern world, fighting against witch hunters with the sudden appearance of long gone Supreme, and trials of new and young witches. It ends on a great note, with the coven announcing itself on national television and forwarding a welcoming hand to new witches who are scared of the world.

Season 4 is actually about a show really titled ‘Freak Show’, yeah we were surprised too. It’s also the title of Season and revolves around the ‘show’ and its performers’ lives. Season 5 brings with it a hotel with a torture chamber, hidden from the eyes. Titled ‘Hotel’, season 5 stars the very famous Lady Gaga, who’s an evil villainess in the show and won a Golden Globe award for it.

Season 13 is also expected to bring in a spooky story, unlike but similarly scary to previous seasons. Season 6 was about mysterious disappearances of Roanoke Island which only Flora survived. (Oops, spoilers.) Did you understand that hint?

And season 7 decided to show the terrors of a ‘Cult’ hints at how the series is always trying to bring in something new to grip its uses. Season 8 ‘Apocalypse’ was different from Season 9 ‘1984’ which takes us back in time. Season 10 ‘Double Feature’ is the last to premiere till date. It’s a two-part season, with ‘Red Tide’ and ‘Death Valley’ where they bring back characters from their Second Season whereas the former is about a family who relocates to a new place in Massachusetts and meets the local people.

Many people thought that Season 10 was last when FX surprised us with 3 more seasons. With some familiar and some new faces, we also believe that FX and creators may try to bring a new element and give a callback to one of its older seasons too.
