Vi tries her best to speak with Jayce at the start of Arcane episode nine. The dead infant disgusts him, and he decides that the argument is finished. Vi, however, argues that this is simply the price of war and that, from his privileged position in the council, he has been too protected to fully appreciate the true cost of this. Unfortunately, this one act separates Jayce and Vi. He cautions, “You won’t make it alone.”

However, this dead youngster acts as a martyr to persuade Sevika to adopt Finn’s viewpoint. Silco gives the go-ahead to deal with the body as they exchange knowing looks. Finn and the others don’t need much time to stage their coup, or do they? After making her decision, Sevika slashes Finn’s throat. Although she was never persuaded, she does caution that other people will rise and oppose Silco’s rule. He must be prepared for that.

In the meantime, Mrs. Medarda’s daughter approaches her and insists that she leave the city and keep away from Jayce. Mel is aware that she was the one who lit the fuse that started the war. Here, Mrs. Medarda suggests that Mel go home and urges her to do so, pointing out that the reason she was initially abandoned was that she “made her weak.” Coming from this battle-hardened, tough mother, it’s a veiled way of saying she loves her daughter, but these bridges seem too burned to mend.

Viktor appears to be about to plunge to his death amid his misery. But Jayce should be there instead. He prevents his friend from jumping, and they begin to converse. Viktor makes an offer to Jayce. He wants the Hexcube torn apart. The only way out is to prevent things from getting worse since they have forgotten to do good in their quest for the great.

For the time being, he meets Silco, who approaches him with his demands for peace. Zaun seeks full access to the Hexgates, unhindered trade routes, and sovereignty. After witnessing the horrors of war, Silco makes an alternative gambit that Jayce is not going to accept: hand over Jinx, and Silco will get the Nation of Zaun.

Jinx takes the gem and her gun flees and opens fire on the Council. It couldn’t have arrived at a worse moment because Piltover residents are in favor of peace. The lights flash, and everyone raises their hands. the glass is broken by Jinx’s missile, too. One of the best-animated films of the year comes to a close with Arcane’s painful conclusion. The last episode finally sees our blue-haired vixen accept her Jinx character after a tonne of care and attention has been placed into it.

Vi is still on the precipice in this situation, caught between trying to save her sister and doing what is right for the Undercity. Unfortunately, Silco’s passing acts as a martyr, driving the girl over the brink and keeping her from ever becoming what she was. The dinner scene serves as a powerful illustration of how far Jinx has fallen, and it is a superbly lyrical choice that is reminiscent of Mad Hatter’s tea party.

There are unmistakable hints of influence there, and her rocket’s final shot through the council is like falling down the war rabbit hole. If this is renewed for a second season and we witness the impact, there will surely be significant consequences.

Arcane is available on Netflix.
