Beetlejuice Original Ending
Tread with care because the following part contains spoilers.
It ends on a happy note with the Deetzes and the Maitlands resolving their issues and deciding to live together in harmony. They also defeat him and Lydia gets a good grade on her Math test. He, on the other hand, gets stuck in the afterlife and is not well-liked by the other ghosts.
As mentioned above, the movie had a pretty upbeat ending but one of the producers, Larry Wilson said that the original ending was very dark. Originally, Lydia Deetz dies in fir and joins her friends, the Maitlands as a ghost. The ending was supposed to be sweet since Lydia does not fit in the world so she goes somewhere where she belongs.
But many people pointed out to the creators that the death of a teenager is not an adequate ending to a film since it does not send a good message, that Lydia is better dead than alive. Thus, the ending was changed to what it is today.
