The film starts with young Vlad being inducted into the Order of the Dragon, a group of knights who defend Christendom, by his father, Vlad II Dracul. In 1476, Vlad leads a raid against the Ottoman Empire, but the Turks capture him and impale him. Vlad’s wife, Elisabeta, kills herself.

Vlad returns home to find that his people have been enslaved by the Turks and that his son, Ingeras, has been taken captive. Vlad goes to a Turkish official, Mehmed, and pleads for Ingeras’ life, but Mehmed demands 1,000 boys, including Ingres, in exchange for their freedom. Vlad returns home and tells his people that he will go to the Turks and get their freedom in exchange for their sons.

The people of Vlad’s town do not want to give up their children, so Vlad tells them that he will take their place. Vlad drinks the blood of bats, gaining their strength, and turns into a vampire. He kills the Turkish soldiers and rescues Angeles. Vlad then becomes known as “Dracula.”

The ending of the film is a surprise, and it’s not entirely clear what happened. Here’s a brief explanation. It seems that after Vlad kills Mehmed, he also kills himself. However, his body is transformed into a vampire. This is likely because of the power he absorbed from the Master Vampire.

As for whether or not he is still alive, it’s hard to say. He certainly isn’t human anymore, but it’s possible that he could exist in some form. What do you think happened at the end of Dracula Untold? Let us know in the comments!
