Professor Cheng and his daughter An-Ya help detective Li Xiao to solve a series of baffling crimes in which the victims’ minds are hacked in HBO Asia’s science-fiction series “Dream Raider.”

Cheng and An-Ya employ dream raiding technology, which opens a portal to one’s dreamscape, to uncover the truths behind a series of puzzling events and incidents that unfold one after the other in the metropolis.

The first season of the show comes to a stunning conclusion as Qi-Feng tries his hardest to open the Abyss of Consciousness gate so that his wife Li-An can return to the real world.

Despite collecting the nerve impulses of hundreds of people to finish his experiment, the scientist fails horribly and dies as a result of his attempts.

Cheng reconciles with An-Ya after Qi-death, Feng’s allowing the neural engineer to return to the actual world through the Abyss.

Li-An, on the other hand, chooses to remain in the Abyss. When the father and daughter are enjoying their time together, Li Xiao says his goodbyes to his daughter, who is leaving with Li’s ex-wife and her new boyfriend for Singapore.

Li-An opens her eyes just before the season ends, signaling her return to the real world.

Season 1 of ‘Dream Raider’ was broadcast in its entirety on HBO Max in the United States on February 17, 2022. Season 1 premiered in Asia on August 16, 2020, before its release in the United States. The first season consists of eight episodes, each lasting approximately 45 minutes.

Here’s what we know about the upcoming second season. HBO Asia or HBO Max has yet to make an official announcement about the renewal of ‘Dream Raider’ for a second season.

An-Ya may meet up with Li Xiao, who is dealing with the loss of his daughter. Cheng may not return to prison and spend time with his daughter now that the truth about Qi-false Feng’s death has been revealed.

In the prospective second season, we can also expect Cheng, An-Ya, and Li Xiao to continue exploiting dream raiding technology to solve ambiguous cases.
