This South Korean drama revolves around two people who don’t want to marry but decided to get married because of “Newlyweds jeonse loan”. The drama is written by Jung Soo Yoon. Her recent work Juvenile Delinquency and Juvenile Delinquency 2 will be airing anytime soon. Park Dan Hee has directed the series. He has shown his great skills recently in the movie Blue Birthday: The Movie.
The drama has an interesting theme with illustrations about the protagonist’s relationship. The pace is perfect as well.

It is another drama with a love triangle where the second lead is going to grab all your attention and love. The life of a couple in and after a contract marriage is shown throughout. If “Ending Again” could be explained in a line it would be, Let go of your past and embrace the new. It is a great drama to watch when you’re in the mood for something both substantial and fluffy.

Cast Of Ending Again

Ending Again is a romantic series involving a contract marriage with no bells or whistles. The drama is a perfect blend of realism and that is something special we look for in dramaland. The story has a romantic soft feeling, even though there is minimal fluffiness going on.

Jo Soo Min is a South Korean actress who was recently seen in all three seasons of Penthouse. She also appeared in the drama series Seoul 1945 and Touch Your Heart. She plays the role of Chan In Young. She does a fairly good job but isn’t irreplaceable. Chan In Young is great at setting up boundaries with people. She deserves all the respect as she doesn’t give her ex-boyfriend another chance in the series.

Kim Geon Won is a new rookie actor. He recently appeared as a student in the movie Fingers After. He plays the role of Do Yoo Soo, the main protagonist. Kim Geon Won is handsome with the perfect look for the character. His acting is on point, for this short and lower-budget drama. Do Yoo Soo carries a heavy dark past in his background, but it doesn’t hold him back. He seems unpredictable most of the time as it is hard to know what is going on in his head. Unlike most of the drama in the k-world, this character seems more realistic due to his behavior in a few episodes.

Kang Hee is an actor and model.  He starred in the volleyball-themed drama series “Thumping Spike,” and “Thumping Spike 2”. He is seen on the ongoing Viki original Cherry Blossoms After Winter. He plays Yoo Chan Hee, the second male lead of the television series. Yoo Chan Hee doesn’t have much on-screen presence. The audience found him a little boring character. It often feels anti-climatic when he is in a scene.

Kim Seo An recently appeared as Princess Jeongmyeong in Bossam: Steal the Fate. She plays the role of So Hye An, In Young’s best friend. Kim Seo An had an adequate on-screen presence. So Hye An is a charismatic person and makes all her scenes fun. She might seem waggish but has a great personality. Her character has the right balance of maturity and silliness. In Young and Hye An had great chemistry. Their friendship seems genuine.

Synopsis of Ending Again

Synopsis of Ending Again
Synopsis of Ending Again

Ending Again is a fraud marriage romance between two people who don’t want to marry but marriage “Newlyweds jeonse loan”. Newlyweds jeonse loan is governmental financial support for newly married couples to help them rent houses. They eventually get married as they had the same needs.

In Young is living at the edge of the cliff in the most miserable manner. She is failing at her courses, her work at a gallery is consuming most of her time and she broke up with her boyfriend after an 8 year-long relationship. To add on, she has been a victim of renting fraud. Now she is broke and has nowhere to stay. To escape the situation, she decides to find a fake husband to get the Newlyweds jeonse loan, a government-funded program to help young couple rent homes.

Yoon Soo is a popular guy at her college. Although he has a nasty rumor whispered about him. Surprisingly, he asks her to marry him. In Young had been avoiding him because of a drunken mistake. She was recently involved with him after a one-night stand. However, not having another option, she takes up the offer and they begin living together.

Yoon Soo has something hidden about his past which eventually ruins his present. The rumor about him having the scholarship to go and study abroad is false, and it ruined his life. However, it benefited someone else. That other guy is In Young’s ex, Chan Hee. Chan Hee broke up with In Young, after telling her that he would like to go abroad and study in Paris instead of being in a relationship with her. He claims that she is an obstacle that is stopping him from all the success and fame. She still has not gotten over their nasty breakup but heals a little by little as she starts living with Yoon Soo.

Ending Again is followed in a more mature concept of  “XX”, with improvised scenes. Even though the characters have more adult relationships, the drama had a cute vibe overall. They did a marvelous job with the ex-boyfriend theme as the female lead is heartbroken and remembers all their good times as a couple. As the drama progressed, we got to see that their relationship wasn’t all kisses and flowers, rather, they had been starting to have a lot of problems.

To conclude, there were some parts that the drama which were not handled well. Probably because the length was too short and some plot lines were not properly explained or forgotten. The ending was somehow let down the audience a little, as the forgiveness part was rather quick and they never had a proper talk about it. Still, the drama was extra cute and had enough romance to make the fan’s heart flutter.
