Filthy Rich Season 1 Plot
The storyline of Filthy Rich begins with the father of an ultra-rich southern family, Eugene Monreaux, supposedly dying in a plane crash, which may or may not has been planned by a member of this so-called clan. Eugene Monreaux can be considered the head of the Monreaux family alongside being the founder and president of a Christian television company called televangelist Sunshine Network.
As the members of the Monreaux family find out about the untimely and “accidental” death of Eugene, they seem to be in utmost shock and misery. Soon, the will left behind by Eugene is taken out which brings out a new wave of an absolute surprise to the family as it reveals the existence of three illegitimate children who would be sharing the riches he left behind along with his two legitimate children Rose and Eric.
The plot of Filthy Rich is structured like a maze, filled with twists and turns awaiting at every corner of each episode of the show. The structure of the storyline and the mentally, emotionally and ethically warped characters is exactly what makes it loved by its watchers.
Filthy Rich Season 2 Characters
Margaret Monreaux, Eugene’s wife was originally the daughter of the family cook until she was set up with him by his mother. For Margaret, the world is hers and she is determined to make sure that the family’s television company stays in the family after Eugene’s death. Despite her flaws, she assuredly loves her children, even the illegitimate ones.
Eric Monreaux, the son of Margaret and Eugene is the kind of person who always sets out to do the right thing but this rigged world always beats the crap out of him for doing so. After his father’s death, he is appointed as the CEO of the company, a position he certainly wasn’t ready for.
Rose Monreaux, the daughter of Margaret and Eugene, is the sweetest soul on the entire show but has never worked hard a day in her life. She thinks her family’s fortune is enough to cater to her every need.
Another deviant character is Becky Thomas Monreaux, who is hiding a part of herself away from everyone in the family including his husband Eric, whom she married only to shun her brother’s hurtful remarks. The family thinks of her as a sweet and affectionate girl while she is constantly plotting and judging them. She is two-faced only to protect herself from her brother she loathes.
Filthy Rich Season 2 Release Date
Fox Broadcasting company announced on 19 December 2018 that it was going to come up with a new series called Filthy rich and ordered the pilot of the show. As everything went well with the pilot, on 9 May 2019, Fox announced that the show would be coming out in the fall of 2019.
But just like the curved storyline of Filthy Rich, how could the plans for its release stay on a straight path. The release of season 1 the show was shifted from the fall of 2019 to the spring of 2020 due to some conflicts with Taylor. Then in 2020, the pandemic hit, and the release date was further shifted to the fall of 2020.
The creators and the viewers of Filthy rich took a fatal blow due to the pandemic as it got canceled after only 1 season along with another show of the network called Next. This was probably because of the multiple delays and shortage of production budget.
