During the party Alex Agullo, a Barcelona PR expert, has prepared, artist and singer Aldo makes a splashy arrival in “Our Parties Never End,” the opening episode of First Class. Clara Courel, a fashion journalist, is his passenger. He parks his powder blue Lincoln Continental, does a few backward pirouettes while wearing a purple tux, and then opens the door for her. A couple who works in the art world and divides their time between Barcelona and London, Marc Patsy and Zaida Marquez, as well as ageless grande dame Lucia Saez-Benito, are also there.

Archie Allen-Martinez, a fashion designer, shows up as usual with a group of impeccable young guys. Designer Carola Etxtart Panino and illustrator/designer/DJ Amanda Portillo complete the ensemble. While some of them were already acquainted, Alex’s connecting abilities allowed for the introduction of others. Aldo describes them as “a Noah’s Ark of twisted, crazy, amazing individuals” when they are all together.

As Alex, Marc and Zaida, Carola, and Lucia join Lucia at the opera, Archie is shown working in his workshop and recounts in humblebrag fashion how Harry Styles and Miley Cyrus have worn his designs. Alex says of his friend, “Lucia, it’s hard not to like her, and vice versa, yet she can be difficult to handle.” She has also been around for a while. “No one is aware of her age. She is on the cusp of adulthood and death.

Also, meanwhile, is relaxing on his farm outside of town where he raises alpacas, a cow, a pig, a goat, and an emu. He also paints, rides horses, and takes care of other animals in the barnyard. Life is about making a mark, according to Aldo.

For Lucia’s end-of-summer party, which Alex planned down to the exclusive guest list, chef-driven paella plates, and on-site tarot card reader, the gang has assembled at a lovely oceanfront villa. When Aldo shows up, he has a hand-painted parachute with him. Because you never know when a plane could be available to jump off of, “I always bring my parachute.” Model Alex, Archie’s assistant, is introduced.

Clara also attended the event wearing a purple hat with a large brim and hanging fringe. Without a doubt, she resembles a walking lamp shade, but she insists that the headgear is the most photographed in the fashion industry. Drinks are flowing, toasts are being made, disco music is pulsing, and everyone dives into the pool wearing expensive attire.
