The Paramount+ standalone series, based on the video game franchise ‘Halo’, has officially wrapped up its first season. And with an ending like that, we really don’t know where this show is going. Here’s everything we know so far about when Halo season 2 will premiere.
Is There A Halo Season 2?
Well, YES! Considering how the first season ended, we deserve to know what happened next. Even before the premiere of season 1, Halo was renewed for a Season 2 during a ViacomCBS presentation.
David Nevins, Chief Content Officer of Scripted Originals at Paramount+ and Chairman and CEO of Showtime Networks, said: The series has been renewed. “This Season 2 pick-up reflects our confidence in the power of this epic series to engage and engage audiences. I am grateful for the opportunity.”
Halo Season 2 Cast
The only thing we know about the second season’s cast is who will not be returning. Stars Kyle Killen and Steven Kane announced, much to many fans’ regret, that they would be leaving Halo after its first season.
On the other hand, we think it is safe to assume that the main cast will return. Which includes:
- Pablo Schreiber as Master Chief
- Jennifer Talor as Cortana
- Yerin Ha as Kwan Ha
- Nastascha McElhone as Dr. Catherine Halsey
- Bookeen Woodbine as Soren-066
- Shabana Azmi as Margaret Parangosky
- Natasha Culzac as Riz-028
- Olive Gray (as Dr. Miranda Keyes)
- Kate Kennedy as Kai-125
- Danny Sapani as Captain Jacob Keyes
- Bentley Kalu as Vannak-134
Halo Season 2 Plot
As we said, this isn’t a show where you can predict what’s going to happen next.
Regarding the plot, the directors took some creative liberties fans weren’t too happy with, and they will probably continue to do so in future seasons. Therefore, we can’t expect the plot to be the exact same as in the games.
What we think is that Season 2 might be about finding the Halo ring now that we’ve found a way. The war between Earth and the Alliance will likely continue as well, and we’ll see the return of Dr. Escaped to the UNSC. See Halsey. As such, Season 1 has multiple storylines that suggest Season 2 is all about racing and fighting over the Halo ring.
And if you haven’t watched the first season already, we recommend you do. Here’s a little gist of what happened in season 1.
The 150 or so people who live at the Madrigal outpost have fought the ruling United Nations Space Command (UNSC) for decades, believing their rule to be oppressive. The UNSC counterattacked with highly trained Marines, but on rare occasions, some of the more experienced rebels fought super-soldiers called Spartans. Kwan Ha Boo (Yerin Ha) and her friends are looking for plants to help them get high when they see a ship in the distance. But they are neither Marines nor Spartans. His giant soldiers from the Alien Covenant begin to ravage the colony.
Only Kwon survived after the Spartans defeated the aliens. Both her father, a rebel leader, and her brother were killed in the battle. As the squad explores a cave used by the Alliance, Jon touches a glowing object that gives him something the Doctor knows. While sending Kwon back to her UNSC headquarters on the planet Reach, Jon is shaken by what she sees. Upon receiving orders to eliminate Kwan, John decides to spare them and escape, including showing Kwan who he really is. Meanwhile, Dr. Halsey follows orders from Admiral Margaret Palangoski (Shabana Azumi) and eliminates John even though he has become a rogue.
When Will Halo Season 2 Premier?
We know for sure that there will be a second season, but we don’t know when it will premiere. To make things even more complicated, this is a show that can’t look into the past to know what will happen in the future. Halo’s first season was one of the longest in development in modern television history experienced. The series was originally scheduled for release in 2015. Seven years later, it finally aired on Paramount+.
Season 2 could premiere in 2023 or 2024 if Halo follows a regular TV release schedule. Cross your fingers and get a new episode sooner or later.
