Koikimo Season 2 Release Date, Cast, Plot, and Everything Else

Koikimo, also known as It’s Too Sick to Call This Love (Japanese: Koi to Yobu ni wa Kimochi Warui), is a Japanese romantic comedy anime created by Mogusu and published by Kodansha. It was initially published on Pixiv before being serialized online in Ichijinsha’s Comic POOL digital manga magazine in January 2015, where it is now available.

The Koikimo anime series was produced by animation Studio Nomad, which is most recognized for the Jashin-chan Dropkick! (Dropkick On My Devil!) and It’s Disgusting to Call This Love anime television series, among other projects.

Will there be a second season of Koikimo? What is the release date for Koi to Yobu ni wa Season 2?
We are here to answer this question for you, read more to find out about this much-loved anime.

Naomi Nakayama (‘Orange, Hunter X Hunter’) is directing the production of “Koikimo” at Studio Nomad, which is producing the film. In addition to Taku Yamada (‘Rent A Girlfriend’), Yuuko Kakihara (‘Cells at Work!’) created the script and Mariko Fujita helped to the character animation for this project. ‘Ahiru no Sora’ was composed by Hiroaki Tsutsumi (Devil May Cry, Dr. STONE, Jujutsu Kaisen, Monster Musume, By the Grace of the Gods, Tokyo Revengers) and the soundtrack is performed by a live orchestra.

Because Koikimo is an animation series, it has a voice cast for each of the eight main characters. Masuda, Rio Amakusa, Arie Matushima, Kai Tamaru, Zenji Amakusa, Yuriko Arima, Ichika Arima, and Ryo Amakusa are voiced by Ryohei Kimura, Rena Hasegawa, Kana Hanazawa, Junya Enoki, Junya Enoki, Jouji Nakata, Fumiko Orikasa, Yurie Kozakai, and Season 2 should have all eight of the voice actors reprising their roles as their individual characters.

The first batch of programs of this romance drama received an overwhelmingly positive response from the public. It had a mixed reception when it first premiered, but as the show progressed, the majority of the reviews became more favorable.

The program was also the subject of some criticism because of its depiction of an age-gap romance. In the conclusion, Koikimo received a 7.19 out of 10 on MyAnimeList for his efforts.

These numbers are impressive enough to convince any production company to give the show a second season of production approval. Nevertheless, the main issue is that Studio Nomad has already consumed all of its available source material.

Furthermore, the first season came to a pleasant conclusion, and the producers do not want to spoil it.

As a result, the likelihood of a second season of Koikimo being a reality has decreased significantly.

What about the storyline, on the other hand? Let’s shed some light on this issue right now.

Once you’ve fallen in love, it’s difficult to break up with that person. When Amakusa Ryou, a highly accomplished businessman that many women find attractive, and Arima Ichika, the closest friend of her high school student sister, happen to run into one other, it is a chance meeting that changes their lives. He then falls head over heels in love.

His approach to this high school girl is on the one hand nearly too open, while she unquestioningly reprimands warns him, and expresses her displeasure in a straightforward manner on the other. And Amakusa Ryou interprets this as our girl’s method of expressing her affection for him.

Koikimo Manga vs Anime

Mogosu submitted the drawings to Pixiv prior to the manga’s publication as a serialized series. After a long wait, it ended up receiving an online manga serialization in January 2015, which ran until March 2021.

During this six-year period, the author has published a total of 8 volumes in the series. Additionally, Koikimo follows the current pattern of adapting the entirety of a romantic-comedy manga into a single animated series. Horimiya and Higehiro, two popular Japanese television programs, accomplished the same thing.

The good news is that the tempo of this anime was significantly improved, and this certainly worked to its advantage. The bad news is that Studio Nomad would have no content left to use for the second season of the show, as a result of this development.

Even if they re-use the chapters that were skipped, they won’t be able to complete another full-length episode of this romantic drama series.
