The show is developed by Carlton Cuse, Aron Eli Coleite, and Meredith Averill. The show is a combination of Fantasy, Drama, and Supernatural horror elements.
The show was renewed for a third season in December 2020, which debuted on August 10, 2022, before the second season’s launch on October 22, 2021. It was revealed in April 2022 that the third season would be the show’s finale, as the producers had intended. If you can get past the uneven and a little sloppy parts, Locke & Key will pay off in the end. It is a horror-tinged fantasy epic at its core, but before all the eerie stuff gets going, it starts as a rich and heartbreaking tale of loss.

Locke & Key Season 2 Recap
The Lockes and their pals build a magical trap at Keyhouse, forcing Kinsey to test her acting abilities. Josh is furious about his lost item. Tyler and Kinsey try to shield their loved ones from Gabe’s burgeoning collection of pawns as the family magic’s origins become apparent. Gabe gives Kinsey a deadline to comply with his demands, Eden deceives Josh, and a terrified Nina seeks out while Tyler thinks of a method to assist Jackie. Bode is confronted by a startling guest at Keyhouse.
Locke & Key Season 3 Plot
The main plot of Locke & Key Season 3 revolves around Tyler and Kinsey heading back to Keyhouse. The Lockes devise a scheme to lure Gideon into the wellhouse and lock him away. As Bode tries to force Gideon into the wellhouse, they use the Creation Key to summon a bulldozer. Bulldozer claw resistance by Gideon causes the scheme to fail.
Locke & Key Season 3 Storyline
In a snow globe, Nina discovers a miniature Keyhouse, She believes it to be magical. To persuade Tyler to come back for a wedding, Kinsey sends Tyler a photo of herself and Bode. Gideon combines two keys to open a new doorway. The Locke family gets ready for the nuptials of Duncan and Brian. Once to meet Benjamin Locke and once to meet a young Duncan, Bode travels back in time using a new key he finds called the Timeshift key. The Timeshift key is taken away by Duncan in the present and given to Nina.
But Tyler, concerned about Gideon’s attack, decides to stay behind for a while to protect his family, Duncan and Brian leave for their honeymoon in their car. To visit his father, Bode tries to take the Timeshift key from Nina. Once Nina has caught him, she uses the Head key to go back through her memories so that Bode can see his father once more. Dodge managed to turn Bode into a ghost by using the Ghost door, which gave Dodge access to Bode’s body. Bode’s body is now home to Dodge.
When taking the keys, Dodge discovers that he won’t get hurt. Bode runs into Gideon. Gideon wants Dodge to steal all the keys while he describes his scheme to unite the realms of humans and demons. While Rufus informs Ellie of his discovery that Bode is being possessed by Dodge, Dodge continues her search for the keys. Likewise, following the discovery of Dodge’s first body. As a victorious Gideon uses the keys to unlock a doorway to his world, the Lockes are compelled to depart Keyhouse. Tyler, Kinsey, and Nina rush to Ellie’s house to make plans.
Gideon attempts to unite the worlds of demons and humans but discovers he is still lacking a key. Sam is James as he unlocks the closet and admits it. The key should be found in Gordie Shaw’s skull before he passes away, Gideon tells Ellie as he shoots him at his home. Arriving are Sam (within James’s body), Kinsey, Tyler, and Rufus. While Kinsey, Tyler, and Sam enter Gordie’s head to rescue Ellie and locate the final key, Rufus makes a call for medical assistance.
While Sam is stuck and dies alongside Gordie, Tyler, Kinsey, Ellie, and Gideon can escape from Gordie’s head before he passes away. Bode finally takes Josh into their lives, and Tyler returns to Montana while promising to keep in touch with his family. Kinsey chooses to look into international institutions to be nearer to Scot. Whispering can be heard, though, so perhaps there are still undiscovered keys in keyhouse.
