Lost Ollie Release Date, Cast, Plot, and More!

Lost Ollie is an upcoming American animated series based on a children’s book titled Ollie’s Odyssey written by Willian Joyce. William Joyce is an American illustrator and writer popularly known for his works on the cover of The New Yorker as well as painted paintings that have been displayed nationally. He has written several books such as Santa Calls, The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore, Nicholas St. North, and the Battle of the Nightmare King and Eolie Polie Olie which was later animated. He has previously won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film for his book The Fantastic Flying Books of Mrs. Lessmore.

The series has merely four episodes but is a fun little binge-worthy series for all the animated fans, the show has been adopted by Netflix and they made the announcement of the series. The show revolves around a young boy and his toys, the toys have conflicts among themselves and the toy stolen by the bad toys tries to stop the fight and keep himself and Billy’s other toys safe.

There are not many casts involved in the series but the main characters include, Kesler Talbot, he is a child actor debuting through Lost Ollie, Netflix announced his role in the film on Twitter, he plays the role of Billy in the series. Gina Alexis Rodriguez LoCicero is an American actress and producer widely popular for her role in the series Jane the Virgin and Miss Bala, she has previously received the Golden Globe Award in 2015, and she plays the role of Billy’s Mom in the series.

Jake Johnson, is an American actor, producer, and screenwriter widely known for his role in New Girl as Nick Miller and recently starred in the series Minx, he plays the role of Billy’s Dad in the series. Jonathan Groff is an American actor and singer widely known for his stage performances for which he has received a Grammy Award, nominated for the Tony Award and Drama League Awards twice as well as Primetime Emmy Awards once, he plays the role of Ollie in the series.

Mary J. Blige is an American singer and actress popularly known as the Queen of Hip Hop Soul, she has previously won the Grammy Awards nine times as well as Billboard Music Award ten times to date, she plays the role of Rosy in the series. Tim Blake Nelson is an American actor and playwright popularly for his role in O Brother Where Art Thou as well as starred in Holes and recently Old Henry, he plays the role of Zozo in the series.

The series revolves around a young boy named Billy, he has several toys and ranks them from his most favorite toys to his most disliked toys. Among all of them, his favorite toy was the rabbit whose name was Oswald, and called him Oz with love, Billy takes Oz everywhere with him but the major plot in the story begins when Zozo, Billy’s least favorite toy he received from an amusement park becomes jealous of Oz and his other favorite toys.

Zozo never forgets that Billy did not want to take him home because of how he looked and dumps him in the room while never playing with him, he is angered by this and forms a group of other toys having similar feelings to him. One time when Billy leaves Oz under the table during a wedding, Zozo and his mates kidnap Oz and run away leaving Billy devastated, Oz soon realizes that Zozo has been stealing all the favorite toys from Billy, in order to save the toys, he is determined to stop Zozo and his team so that Billy can be happy along with all the toys.

The mini-series will portray a moral to the society on how people too get jealous and try to destroy good things because they themselves are devastated.

Lost Ollie Release Date

The mini animated series has not been given a fixed date for the release by Netflix yet but it was announced that the filmmaking has been completed and it will soon release in 2022.

Lost Ollie is created by Shannon Tindle, he is an American director, screenwriter, and storyboard artist popularly known for his work in Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends and previously received the Emmy Award for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation as well as nominated for the Annie Award and Primetime Emmy.

The series has been directed by Peter A. Ramsey, he is an American director, producer, and illustrator widely known for his work in Rising of the Guardians as well as contributed to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, he has previously won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. The executive producers include Shawn Levy, Josh Barry, Emily Morris, Brandon Oldenburg, and Lampton Enochs. The production companies involved are 21 Laps Entertainment and Industrial Light & Magic.
