Lovesick Season 4(Scrotal Recall) is a British sitcom created by Tom Edge which was first broadcast on Channel 4 in October 2014. After the show was originally aired on Channel 4, it was made available by Netflix, who then commissioned a second season globally on 17 November 2016, where it was billed as a Netflix Original. After its transfer from Channel 4 to Netflix, the show was renamed from Scrotal Recall to Lovesick. The season 3 finale officially aired in 2018 and fans are excited for season 4 to arrive on Netflix.
Season 3 of the series ended with best friends Dylan(Johnny Flynn) and Evie(Antonia Thomas) finally getting together. Meanwhile, their best mate, Luke (Daniel Ings), was ready to start his own journey toward finding true love. Ultimately, it was a fitting end to a season finale that was essentially a story about a trio of friends leaving their wild young adulthood behind, but the door was definitely left open for more Lovesick to come in the future.
Lovesick Season 4 Plot
The show revolves around a group of friends sharing a house in the West End of Glasgow and their romantic lives. After Dylan Witter (Johnny Flynn) is diagnosed with chlamydia, he attempts to contact all of his previous sexual partners to inform them of his diagnosis. Dylan lives with best friends Luke Curran (Daniel Ings) and Evie Douglas (Antonia Thomas).It is shown that ,previously, Evie has a secret crush on Dylan , but has since moved on, recently becoming engaged. The majority of each episode is told through flashbacks, showing Dylan’s encounters with a number of women, as well as the changes his friends go through.

Lovesick Season 4 Storyline
Season 3 ended with Dylan and Evie together, but it didn’t feel like their story was over just because they were finally a couple. In a 2018 interview with Vulture, Edge shared that he would want season 4 to recapture the lighter side of the series, which was something that became lost a bit in the heavier themes of seasons 2 and 3. “I think broadening its horizons but taking it back into slightly warmer, more upbeat territory would be the right thing to do,” the series creator said.
Lovesick Season 4 Release Date
Even though the series was not renewed for season 4, Netflix never officially canceled the show either. It’s been well over three years since the third season of British sitcom Lovesick hit screens, but there’s still no word on whether that really is a wrap, or if it will one day return. As a result, the actors have all moved on to other projects as there are no concrete plans for the comedy to continue.
Johnny Flynn shared that there were talks of reuniting for a holiday special at some point, and he told Decider he believes that could be a great way to continue the story naturally. “Maybe Evie and Dylan with some kids,” he said of the possibility of picking up the story several years later.
Flynn made it clear he would be happy to reprise the role of Dylan if the opportunity ever arises. “I would be down with that, for sure,” he said of a potential season 4. “Making that show was one of the pleasures of my life. I loved it. I loved all the people involved.”
In an interview Ellerby explaned how the series was quickly shoot and released just after two weeks of wrapping and also how the sitcom became very famous in the U.S. “So we literally wrapped and it came out like two weeks after, which is so quick. But it kind of felt like it was all over and done with very quickly, and it kind of flopped over here a little bit.
“But brilliantly, Netflix in the US saw something in it and the Americans loved it, which was just great.”
Where To Watch Lovesick Season 4?
For now at least, it seems Lovesick series is the end of the road for Evie, Dylan, and Luke, but if the opportunity to continue the show ever comes along, Edge and Flynn seem ready to return to the world of Lovesick.
