Meg 2: The Trench is an upcoming American science fiction action film, which is based on the 1999 book The Trench by Steve Alter meg also known as Megalodon is a gigantic prehistoric shark that is 70 feet long monster. That’s the reason and this justifies why the movie is titled Meg 2: The Trench

Since the movie is under production we do not know the real plot and we don’t post fake plots here. But, what we know is Jason Statham will undoubtedly deliver another typically Charming, energetic and badass performance as Jonas Taylor. We are sure the plot of the second sequel will make the audience crazy. We need to wait till starting 2023 for the reveal of the plot and let’s see if the wait is worth it or not.
Meg 2: The Trench prequel explained
The Jason Statham starring sea creature thriller, which was released in theatre on 10 August 2018. The Meg is based on a massive creature who was thought to be extinct and attacks a deep-sea submersible and traps the crew at the bottom of the Pacific but Taylor is forced to flee, realizing that trying to rescue will lead to the death of everyone who has already saved him.
His account of the case was dismissed by another survivor, Dr. Heller, who believes Taylor turned out to be drunk and cowardly due to depression. Five years later, millionaire Jack Morris met with Dr. Minway Zhang at an underwater research facility called Mana One. Zhang and his daughter oceanographer Suyin set out to explore the possible deepest part of the Mariana Trench, hidden by thermocline hydrogen sulfide. The submersible mission is being tested by Lori, Taylor’s ex-wife, scientists Toshi and “The Wall”. They found an abundance of plants and animals that had never been seen before under thermocline, but the attack of a large, unknown animal caused the underwater to lose contact with Mana One.
They encountered a 75-foot-long monstrous shark. An old friend of Taylor’s, Mana One operations manager James “Mac” Mackreides, suggests sending Taylor down to attempt a rescue. Despite the objections of Heller, now a member of the Mana One crew, Zhang and Mac venture to Thailand to recruit Taylor. He is initially skeptical but relents after listening to a taped recording containing the dialogue between Lori, her crew, and Mana One. Suyin attempts the rescue in their absence but is attacked by a giant squid. Before the squid can crush her submersible, it is killed by an enormous shark. Taylor, having agreed to help, breaches the thermocline and reaches the sunken submersible.
When the shark returns and attacks the submersible before the evacuation has been completed, Toshi sacrifices himself to help the others escape. In the end, the meg attacks a crowded beach in Sanya Bay, China. So in order to protect everyone from the meg attack, Taylor and Suyin work together to kill it, but Suyin was forced to break off to save others.
While Taylor was fighting the 70-foot-long shark and the wounded beast and attracted by the spilled blood, a flock of modern sharks arrive and devour the dying meg. After this stressful event, Taylor reunites with the rest of Mana one crew and goes on a vacation. Meanwhile, in the water, a passing meg is heard suggesting that more than two escaped the trench. So, this was the ending of the first part the meg.

The trailer will be released by January or February 2023 according to numerous sources. Hope that the filming and the trailer will be as good as The Meg or should be better for the good of fans.
