Hulu’s horror anthology Monsterland is based on Nathan Balingrud’s short tale collection North-American Lake Monsters.
The Monsters of Heaven, a piece from this collection, earned the Shirley Jackson Award for Best Short Story in 2007. Mary Laws directed the film and co-wrote the modern classic The Neon Demon, as well as Succession and Preacher.
Babak Anvari, Megan Ellison, and Lucah Toh are among the executive producers. Megan Ellison also worked on wounded, the final Hulu-exclusive Ballingrud adaption.
Monsterland is Annapurna’s second major television project in 2020, following David Simon’s The Plot Against America.
It will be released on October 2, 2020. The official press release describes the eight-episode series as follows: damaged people are driven to desperate acts by encounters with mermaids, fallen angels, and other strange animals.
In November 2019, the whole Monsterland Season 1 filming took place in Kingston, New York. Hulu is trying to extend the horror genre with more initial preparation, thanks to the success of Blumhouse’s Into the Dark film series and Stephen King’s Castle Rock.
Monsterland has gotten mixed reviews so far, but the good news is that many of them appreciated the dramatic horror series and are looking forward to the next instalment.
Monsterland Season 2 what can we expect?
On October 2, 2020, it will be launched. Damaged people are pushed to desperate deeds by encounters with mermaids, fallen angels, and other weird beasts, according to the official press release for the eight-episode series.
The whole Monsterland Season 1 filming took place in Kingston, New York in November 2019. Thanks to the success of Blumhouse’s Into the Dark film series and Stephen King’s Castle Rock, Hulu is attempting to expand the horror genre with more upfront planning.
So far, Monsterland has received mixed reviews, but the good news is that many of them enjoyed the dramatic horror series and are eagerly anticipating the next instalment.
She sees no light at the end of the tunnel until she meets a mysterious stranger named Alex. Tony will be introduced to his reality by Alex’s presence and laxity in the face of a shifting identity. Finally, the show attempts to represent the narrow line that separates man from monster.
Season 2’s creators have the option of continuing the previous season’s plot-line, adapting a new original storey, adapting another novel, or creating their own new plot. Because of the way the first season was developed and the tension it created, it’s tough for the creators to continue it. Tension is crucial in these types of horror films, which is difficult to achieve given the time gap between the two series.
Because Season 1 was such a blockbuster, fans are eagerly awaiting Hulu’s news of Season 2’s renewal. The fans will be able to accept the storyline changes made in season 2 because each episode of the show tells a different plot with no connection between them.
They might also continue the previous storey, but with a twist, by changing the characters in the same area where the series began.
Monsterland Season 2 Release Date
Monsterland premiered on Hulu on October 2, 2020. For this highly anticipated series, all eight episodes of Season 1 are available to view.
Because the Hulu network has made no remark on the topic, there is no way of knowing whether or not a new season will be released. It is unknown when this show will launch in the United Kingdom, although it is expected to happen as soon as it airs in the United States.
If Hulu agrees to move ahead with Monsterland 2, the sequel might premiere in October of next year, much like Monsterland 1. But what can we say without confirmation from the production house?

Hulu has launched a new horror anthology series called Monsterland. Each episode is a standalone storey, yet they do weave together in unexpected ways. You’ll come across supernatural components, but the actual monster is almost always human.
If you can’t commit to genuinely paying attention, don’t bother watching. It will almost certainly be a waste of time if you do so. The inaugural season of this Hulu anthology features eight episodes, and you’ll no sure discover some favourites amid the wide range of horror stories.
The Cast of Monsterland
Because the second season has not yet been approved, no casting information has been released. If a second season is made, the cast from the first season will return, as planned.
In November of this year, it was announced that Kaitlyn Dever and Jonathan Tucker will be joining the cast of the series. The first episode will feature both of them.
Mike Colter (Evil) has been a member of the team since February 2020. Kelly Marie Tran and Taylor Schilling were added to the cast of the series in July 2020. Nicole Beharie, Adepero Oduye, Roberta Colidrez, Hamish Linklater, and Charlie Tahan (Ozark) were announced as new members of the squad in August 2020.
