Narcos Season 4 Release Date, Cast, Plot, and More!

An epic crime drama keeps the audience hooked on what is going to happen next, and that is exactly what the American crime streaming television drama series called Narcos has managed to do. Narcos Season 4 Release Date

The streaming television series project has been helmed or created and produced by Chris Brancato, Carlo Bernard, and Doug Miro. The American crime drama has three seasons so far. The first season was originally a Netflix exclusive and aired on August 28, 2015; quickly garnering large viewership and being renewed for a second one, which was released on September 2, 2016. It was a couple of days later, on September 6, 2016, that Netflix decided to announce that it will renew the series for a third and a fourth season as well, much to the fans’ ecstatic excitement.

While season three was released on September 1, 2017; the directors announced that season four would no longer be released as a part of the series but instead as a reset of the series, as season 1 of a new Netflix original called Narcos: Mexico. This announcement came on July 18, 2018, and the new series titled Narcos: Mexico hit the OTT platforms and Netflix on November 16, 2018.  Each season of the series Narcos, i.e. seasons 1, 2, and 3 has ten episodes each; making the total 30 episodes in the whole crime drama series. Each episode has a running time of around 43 to 60 minutes.

Narcos Season 4 Storyline

Set in the world of drug kingpins, betrayal, loyalty, crime, and dramatic plot twists and turns, Narcos revolves around the story of the infamous drug kingpin Pablo Escobar and his path towards becoming one of the topmost drug kingpin billionaires in Columbia with a huge drug empire due to the illegal sale, production and distribution of cocaine. There are also dramatic interactions of the kingpin Escobar throughout the series, when he crosses paths with other drug lords, the Drug Enforcement Administration agents (DEA agents), and several other oppositional parties and people.

The American crime drama series chronicles the dramatic life of drug kingpin Pablo Escobar from the 1970s, i.e. when he first dipped his toes in the world of illegal trade of drugs and started manufacturing cocaine, how he expands his empire and his cocaine drug trade in Columbia, becomes an established black Marketeer in Medellin, how he deals with rivals and other oppositional cartels, the Cali cartel and the Escobar empire, to how the story continues after Pablo’s death with the focus on rise of the infamous Cali cartel after Escobar’s death puts him out of their way and how DEA tries to stop them.

The show boasts of a star-studded and talented cast who have done a stellar job with their acting, breathing life into the script and the characters they play.

The titular role of Pablo Escobar, who is the drug kingpin and main protagonist for the majority of the series has been played by the very accomplished and talented actor, Wagner Moura. Paulina Garcia plays Hermilda Gaviria; his mother and the very talented actress Paulina Gaitan plays the role of Tata Escobar; Pablo’s wife.

Boyd Holbrook plays a DEA agent tasked with bringing down Escobar called Steve Murphy. Pedro Pascal stars as Javier Pena who is a DEA agent too. Maurice Compte stars as Colonel Horacio Carrillo. Andre Mattos lays the role of Jorge Ochoa, who is the former leader of the Medellín cartel. Roberto Urbina plays Fabio Ochoa and Diego Catano stars as Juan Diego “La Quica” Díaz. He is an assassin routinely hired by the Medellín. Jorge A. Jimenez stars as a hitman called Roberto “Poison” Ramos.

Stephanie Sigman stars as a Colombian journalist and Pablo Escobar’s mistress,

Valeria Vélez, Bruno Bichir as a Colombian lawyer who represents Escobar called Fernando Duque.

Narcos Season 4 Reviews

Rival political entities, drug lords, and kingpins fighting for control and power in Columbia, this crime drama has it all. No wonder it has managed to garner such a loyal and wide fanbase all over the world! It was one of the rare dramas which kept the viewers hooked and had a very intriguing storyline. The ratings of the series shot through the roof, with massive viewership and glowing reviews.

Narcos Season 4 Trailer

Netflix did release a teaser of Narcos season 4 back when the plan was to release it as a continuation of the series, on December 19, 2017. However, the decision to not continue the series and air a reset of Narcos instead changed the plans. The new series was started; called Narcos: Mexico. Thus, there will be no season 4 or renewal, for the series has ended.

Even though there is no Narcos Season 4, viewers can go watch Narcos: Mexico on Netflix and binge-watch the reset spinoff of the series to go back to the world of Narcos.
