Never Have I Ever Season 3 is an American comedy-drama television series developed by Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher that stars Maitreyi Ramakrishnan. Though set in the San Fernando Valley, the program has been said to be partially based on Kaling’s early experiences in the Boston area, with Kaling herself stating that it is rooted “in the spirit of my upbringing.”
It launched on Netflix on April 27, 2020, and follows an Indian-American high school girl grappling with her father’s untimely death. The series has been applauded for breaking down South Asian stereotypes and has been hailed as a watershed moment for South Asian representation in Hollywood.

Maitreyi Ramakrishnan will reprise her role as Devi Vishwakumar, a high school student, and we can also expect to see more of Lee Rodriguez, Ramona Young, and Megan Suri as close friends Fabiola, Eleanor, and Aneesa.
Never Have I Ever Season 3 Plot
According to the official Netflix summary, “Indian American adolescent Devi (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) continues to struggle with the usual stresses of high school and home conflict, while also navigating new romantic relationships.”
Devi is still struggling with the consequences of what happened between her and love interests Paxton and Ben in the third season, and she is beginning to doubt if a relationship with Paxton makes as much sense as she previously thought.
Based on where we left off, the Bevaxton love triangle appears to be far from ending. Even though Ben is now seeing Aneesa, he still seems to have feelings for Devi after seeing her at the winter dance with Paxton. Devi is still figuring out who she is and how to deal with the loss of her late father. There’s so much more to discover with the Sherman Oaks crew that the possibilities are limitless.
Never Have I Ever Season 3 Storyline
Devi attempted to date both Paxton and Ben at the same time before her family relocated to India in Season 2, with predictable disastrous results: her family never moved, and she caused a lot of hurt. She and Paxton ultimately married, and Ben began dating Aneesa. Devi finds she is extremely jealous, while Ben learns he has greater feelings for Devi than he previously realized.
She reconnected with Paxton in the season 2 finale, and the two formally became an item as a sad Ben watched on, realizing he still had a love for her. Fans of Ben and Devi should not lose faith, as series creator Mindy Kaling hinted in a recent interview that the road to love for Paxton and Devi will not be easy.
“I’ve seen enough romantic comedies to know that unless it’s always moving and changing, it’s not engaging,” she told Entertainment Weekly. “I’m not interested in having the main character be happy in love. It’s more exciting when we don’t know.”
Ben, as played by Jaren Lewinson, may begin to mistrust his new connection with Aneesa (Megan Suri). “That sequence gave me shivers because I realized Ben is dealing with an inner battle that has only recently been revealed.” “I’m looking forward to seeing that explored in season three, fingers crossed.”
In terms of Devi’s journey in Season 3, co-creator Lang Fisher informed TUDUM that “self-confidence” is a significant element.
“We wanted to highlight that having everything you’ve ever desired on the exterior doesn’t matter if you don’t believe in yourself on the inside.” “Devi’s biggest challenge this season, like many young girls, is learning to love yourself,” she continued. “I’d want to see her [Devi] stand up for herself a bit more and simply speak her thoughts,” Never Have I Ever actor Maitreyi Ramakrishnan told Variety of a potential third season.
Never Have I Ever Season 3 Release Date
According to series protagonist Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, the drama at Sherman Oaks High is heating up. On Good Morning America on August 8, the actress revealed what’s in store for her character, Devi. In addition, she highlighted her favorite aspect of the forthcoming season.
“Man, there’s a lot more drama – as predicted, the love triangle is no longer a triangle. There’s greater fervor with the family, and a lot is going on there “She stated. “And, to be honest, my favorite part is that we discuss genuine issues that many of us can relate to. Devi has a lot of insecurities to deal with, and it’s very fun to see her mature.”
When asked to explain the structure of Devi’s love life, Maitreyi stated that it has an “ever-changing form.” We can see how things will get a lot more difficult based on Ben’s response to Devi and Paxton at the winter dance — and the arrival of Devi’s family friend in the teaser.
