New Girl is an American sitcom that was aired between 2011 and 2018. The series revolves around Jessica Day who is a teacher, she moves to LA in a loft with three men Nick Miller, Winston Schmidt, and Winston Bishop. The show is a mixture of comedy and drama with the characters who are in their mid-thirties.
They show us how the characters are dealing with their relationship issues and career choices. There is a total of 7 seasons containing 20 to 25 episodes per season except the last season has only 8 episodes. The series got a great response when it was released and even now after so many years, people enjoy watching this sitcom.
New Girl season 7 Plot
At the end of season 6, it is seen that Jess confesses to Nick her true feelings towards him. and Winston and Aly get engaged along with this Cece and Schmidt receive the news that they are expecting a baby. When this series returned for season 7 there was a three-year time leap. We see that Jess and Nick are very happy together. Cece and Schmidt are blessed with a baby girl and Schmidt used to stay at home with their daughter and Cece used to go out to work. Winston and Aly are happily married and are expecting a child soon.

New Girl season 7 ending explained
The last few episodes of this series give the fans the happy ending that they always have been expecting. We see that Jess and Nick get married finally! Jess hurts her eye just before her wedding and needs to wear an eye mask throughout the wedding. Just before the wedding ceremony, Aly goes into labor and Jess and Nick end up getting married in the hospital.
Jess, Nick, Winston, Schmidt, and Cece hang out in the loft for the one last time. Jess gets nostalgic about the loft as so many things had happened there over the course of years. The last episode turns out in a somewhat emotional yet funny episode. In the end, they realize that they weren’t served an eviction notice it was just Winston playing a prank on all of them.
Lastly, Jess and Nick end up moving into their new house and then there is a flash-forward in the very end where we get to see that the gang is playing their drinking game together with their kids and this just gives all of us a mental satisfaction that they all stayed friends in the years ahead and everyone is living a happy married life.
New Girl Season 8 Release date
The new girl won’t be returning for season 8 and the main reason for that is lesser viewership. Though the ratings were high from the beginning and even the reviews were good the series started losing its audience. After season 6 the ratings began to decrease.
ABC had renewed New Girl for its season 7 but abruptly cancelled the show when the ratings went down. Later Fox planned not to air any more episodes of New Girl until a good ending is planned. The crew then worked on the ending and then Season 7 was released. Season 7 was released only to give a proper ending to the series.
