One of the best historical anime series, Onihei Season 2, is watched by fans of all ages (from kids to adults). Their passionate fan base initiated a petition for a second season. This animation series depicts Japan in the late eighteenth century. A clear picture of a traditional and historic Japanese civilization is created by people wearing kimonos, old wooden houses, and samurai garb worn by soldiers and spies. For those who want to witness prehistoric Japan, it’s pretty gratifying because we can clearly see the people wearing kimonos, the traditional wooden buildings, and the warriors and investigators dressed in samurai armor, which is the true formula for a classical and ancient Japanese culture.
As the show progresses, viewers are increasingly impatient to learn what will happen next, and the background music really makes a strong impression on them, causing them to daydream about the scenes they have seen in episodes all day. It debuted on January 10, 2017, as an anime. The thirteen-episode run came to a conclusion on April 4, 2017.
The studio also published an OVA episode following the thirteenth. Since then, viewers have eagerly anticipated the anime series’ second season. The anime series’ first season was co-produced by Studio M2 and TMS Entertainment. Later, the series was also uploaded on Amazon Prime Video. The anime’s debut season received generally favorable reviews. It has received positive reviews from both critics and spectators. The viewers, therefore, believed that the show would undoubtedly return.
Onihei Season 2 Plot
Hasegawa taizo (also known as Hasegawa dobutamine), the protagonist of the narrative, is portrayed as the superintendent general of the investigation agency that specializes in theft, armed robbery, and arson. He was initially selected as the head of the special police that had authority over arson robberies in Edo because he was a chartered libertine who succeeded his father as their heir.
At the age of 17, he was adopted by a couple from the Hasegawa family who were childless. When his stepmother claimed that he was a concubine’s child, he felt insulted. This caused him to rebel against her and flee the house, which helped him rise to the position of head of “The Handlooms” and enjoy a fast life. His street name, Honjo no Tetsu, was derived from his given name as a child, Tetsusaburo.
Heizo the demon was given the name Onihei by a villain after inheriting his birthright following the death of his father. He oversaw a group of samurai police who used repentant criminals as sources of information to simplify difficult crimes. “Hitsuke tozoku aratamekata” was his given name ( police force for arson and theft).
In his official residence, he had an office built for this purpose. Although he had the appearance of a demon, he also had a softer side that was forgiving of individuals who committed crimes out of necessity or remained loyal to him despite having a criminal record. He established and ran the ishikawajima ninsoku Toshiba, a school that provided offenders with vocational training, and he also served as a yoseba magistrate for a while.
