In the magic competition television program Penn & Teller: Fool Us, magicians show their skills in front of the American comedy-magician team. Since season 2, the magician(s) who performed a trick that Penn & Teller didn’t understand after each performance earns a Fool Us trophy and a luxurious trip to Las Vegas to come forward as the opening act in Penn & Teller’s show, also at the Rio Hotel & Casino.

Each episode begins with an introductory scene that explains the actual goal of the series. A live studio audience watches as upcoming magicians (6 in the pilot, 4 in seasons 1–present) perform their acts in front of Penn & Teller as they went towards the center of the stage.
