Resident Evil is one of the most popular video games for a few decades in the gaming industry. Previously there have been a number of movies based on the storyline of the versions of the game and recently Netflix announced a new release of a series based on the game with the title Resident Evil.
The concept of this series is a little different from the previous movies released based on the video games, the storyline in the movies Resident Evil: Apocalypse, Resident Evil: Extinction, Resident Evil: Afterlife, Resident Evil: Retribution, and Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, all starred by Milla Jovovich playing the lead role of Alice, these movies had the accurate plot from the original game.
The series of Resident Evil which is going to be released does not follow the original storyline from the game, instead, it has its own form of storyline and plot along with a few familiar characters and the same theme. After the series Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, the creators decided to show the situation of the people before the world ended for a proper and final ending.

The series has not been given an official date but as per the tweet by Netflix, it is expected to release on 14 July 2022.
Who are the cast of Resident Evil?
Netflix has not revealed the proper details regarding casting artists yet but it is confirmed that Lance Reddick, an American actor as well as musician popularly known for his works in The Wire and Fringe, has been cast for the role of Albert Wesker in the series. Besides the few revealed were Turlough Convery from Sanditon, Paola Nunez from Bad Boys for Life, Ella Balinska from Charlie’s Angels, Ahad Raza Mir, Siena Agudong No Good Nick, Conner Gosatti, Tamara Smart from A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting and Adeline Rudolph Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
What to expect from Resident Evil?
The series revolves around Jade Wesker in the year 2036 within 14 years the T-virus has been present while destroying the entire population of the world leaving only 2% alive. Jade suffers from the trauma she went through in the city of New Raccoon as well as Albert Wester, her father, his friendship with the Umbrella Corporation disgusts her, especially after what happens with her sister Billie.
The storyline may seem similar but the series involves an entirely new plot and the mental state of Jade will be majorly focused. The series will involve two timelines while showing the relationship Jade had with her father as well as the incident which caused the spread of the T-virus through the Umbrella Corporation, perhaps inspired by the series “The Witcher”. Although Netflix has not revealed what kind of character Albert Wester will be playing since it was shown in the game that he takes his children to Raccoon city even after knowing the risks involved seems suspicious to all the fans.
The main plot of the series is how Jade will survive in this new world filled with monsters especially after her traumatic experience 10 years ago and the secrets behind her father’s work with the Umbrella Corporation. The series is said to be a live-action genre wherein all the aspects of the entire main story are shown in detail.

As of now, there is no trailer released by the production companies or Netflix nor have they provided any scenes with respect to the series.
