After 4-5 episodes, Stargirl improves and becomes darker. The first few episodes of Stargirl are pretty basic and simple. Intense and grim at times, but mostly entertaining.

Stargirl Season 2 Recap
As summer break approaches, Pat suggests that the family take a vacation; Beth learns a significant truth that her parents have been hiding from her, and Rick covertly searches for Solomon Grundy after getting the impression that he could still be in the neighborhood. The Whitmores have a guest, but only Courtney is wary of her. An antiquities trader arrives in Blue Valley in the interim, and Pat remembers him from the past.
Mike begs Pat to let him join the team after experiencing what it’s like to be a superhero. Meanwhile, the JSA gets ready to fight The Shade after asking Thunderbolt for assistance. While the Crocks escape from prison to attend their daughter’s tryouts, Cindy starts to assemble her new ISA. While the JSA searches for the demon, Eclipso finds a new host.
An epic confrontation ensues when Cindy and her new crew make their move against the JSA. Yolanda is forced to make a tragic choice when the guilt over Brainwave’s death becomes too great to bear. Chasing learning that hunters are after bears in the woods, Rick turns his attention to defending Solomon Grundy while his life implodes around him. Beth becomes the target of Eclipso’s most recent scheme.
Mike is compelled to manage his guilt over his part in Icicle’s death, Pat is forced to confront upsetting memories from his past, and Courtney battles to maintain optimism as Eclipso targets others in her vicinity. When Courtney discovers that Pat had lied to her, she and Pat seek out Jennie to enlist her assistance in restoring the diamond and putting a stop to Eclipso.
The crew rallies to decide their course of action after a terrifying incident places Courtney’s life in jeopardy. The new JSA was reassembled to battle Eclipso by Courtney, Pat, and even Cindy. Courtney, Pat, and the JSA join forces to stop Eclipso as he releases the last phase of his ultimate plan.
Stargirl Season 3 Plot
As she guides an odd band of teenage heroes to carry on the legacy of DC’s original superhero squad, the Justice Society of America, Courtney Whitmore is accompanied by her stepfather Pat Dugan. Starman returns from the grave in the third season, and the story moves on from there.
