The Bride of Habaek is a South Korean drama by Tvn. Another fantasy drama where you can let your imagination run free. The drama was released in 2017 yet remains on the top of the k-fans watchlist. It shows the story of the ‘god of water’ and the psychiatrist falls in love with each other. The drama is inspired by the comic by Yoon Mi-Kyung. The show is named after the comic. The comic celebrated its huge success by turning it into a television series. It drama has a very smooth transition of the past and future.

The drama is directed by Kim Byung-Soo. He is known for his works like A Korean Odyssey and  Nine: 9 Times Time Travel. He has recently directed Rookie Cops. The drama portrays a beautiful story of God falling in love with a human. Nam Joo-Hyuk appeared in the drama The bride of Habeak immediately after his superhit “Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo”. The Bride of Habaek is a romance fantasy that takes you through an unusual love story. The god of water, Lord Ha-baek had to come down to the earth in search of a few sacred stones which were very important to him. The stones were precious as they were a necessity to claim the throne. He goes in search of the family that was cursed to serve him.

He meets the last member of that family, So-ah. She is a neuropsychiatrist, upon reaching for help she thinks he is mentally unstable and does not believe a thing. Eventually, she meets a lot of different gods which changes her perception of looking at things. She decides to help him find the sacred stones. While they look for the stones, they fall in love with each other.

Nam Joo Hyuk is a versatile actor. He is known for his works like Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo and Start-up. He is currently seen in the drama Twenty-one twenty-five. He plays the role of the Water God. He is mostly emotionless and does not like human beings. He had to come down to Earth to find a few sacred stones to win the thrown. He tracks the family that was cursed to serve him and discovers only one of them is alive. He asks her to help him find the stones. He faces a lot of problems while he protects her and looks for the stones.

Shin Se Kyung, a beautiful actress from the  High Kick! 2-3 and Rookie Historian Goo Hae-Ryung. She last appeared in the Run On. She plays the role of Yoon So Ah. She is a psychiatrist and the last member to serve the Habaek. When she meets him for the first time, she assumes he is mentally unstable and needs help. She is very kind by nature but does not like showing it out to people. Yoon So Ah is a very charming person while her life isn’t all flowers. Her life gets very exciting after meeting Habaek.

Lim Ju-Hwan is known for his multifaceted roles. He has acted in various dramas flaunting his extraordinary skills. Some of his dramas are Boys Over Flowers, Oh My Ghost, and Uncontrollably fond. He plays Hoo Ye, a well-structured character. He is the CEO of a resort, who is interested in Yoon So Ah’s life. He’s layered and his character is presented well.

Jung Soo-Jung is also known as Krystal plays the role of the water goddess. We all know her from The Hiers and police university. She plays Moo Ra. She seems like an unlikeable character as she creates many problems in Habaeks life. She has long-time feelings for Habaek. Another god, Kim Dong-Hyun, plays the god of the sky. He was recently seen in the drama “Lovers of the Red Sky”. He plays Bi Ryum. He has problems with Habaek and always creates problems in his life.

The South Korean television series “The Bride of Habaek” can be watched on Netflix. The drama was originally released by Tvn. The show follows the norms of 16 episodes, with a duration of 60 minutes for each episode. As the show aired in 2017, all the episodes are released and it can be a great binge watch.
