An all-out assault against Earth, Mars, and Drummer’s Belter faction heralds the commencement of the major conflict with the Free Navy. Drummer’s soldiers are engaged in a full-scale conflict with what they believe to be one of Marco’s freighters rather than the latter himself. But as the fight goes on, Drummer realizes that the freighter her group is pursuing is Marco’s ship undercover.

Her faction is destroyed by Marco, who also severely damages her ship. The drummer is hurt but not defeated, and because she is willing to sacrifice her life, she kills Marco beside her. She prepares to head straight for Marco’s ship, the Pella, but Walker, a fellow Belter, beats her to it. While the rest of the fleet fights Marco, the crew of the Rocinante is on their covert mission. Their goal is to take control of the rail guns the Free Navy grafted onto the ring station as they approach the ring gate in a freighter ship called the Batista.

The plan calls for the Batista to launch tens of thousands of containers or pods through the ring, some of which will contain soldiers, as Drummer grudgingly deems it “ingenious” early in the episode. The aim is for the remaining troops, which will include Amos and Bobbie, to land on the ring station and take control of the rail guns because there are too many pods for the rail guns to handle.

The strategy employed by Naomi is successful! The conflict is effectively over when the Pella with Marco on board is eaten by the ring creatures. The conclusion is nearly anticlimactic in some ways, but Filip is missing, and Naomi believes Marco is too. We witness Naomi’s suffering as she believes her son is no longer alive. However, Filip departed the Pella before it passed through the ring, as we learn at the very end of the program.

He wants to distance himself from Marco after finally seeing the severity of what he is doing. The Rocinante is the subject of the series’ last frame. Bobbie and Clarissa are now formally new crew members and members of the family, and Holden is back in command. Holden and Naomi are seen dozing off in bed as the program comes to a close.

Since Holden is Holden, she adds, “Let’s just stay here, for a minute,” as he continues to worry about the problems that still exist. And when the Rocinante moves across space, we follow suit. The main issue at hand is what’s going on at Laconia, the ring planet where Admiral Duarte’s Martian party has established a base of operations. This was the Expanse Season 6 Ending.

The Expanse Season 6 and the other seasons of the show are available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
