The Son is an AMC’s limited Western American Drama Web Series, based on the novel written by Philipp Meyer which comes with the same name. It tells the story of the American accent to power and the tragic rise and fall of a Texas-based American family.

Pierce Brosnan played the character of Eli McCullough as the lead of The Son and the story revolves around Eli who was kidnapped at the age of 15, but struggles to become a ruthless businessman but feels disconnected from his son and daughter.

There are two seasons and a total of 20 episodes in this series. The first episode was released on April 8, 2017. As indicated by the show’s ratings, it has dazzled both the audience and critics. It has a 7.5 out of 10 IMDB rating and a 52 percent Rotten Tomatoes rating which makes it a highly rated drama series and a must-watch if you are fond of drama.

Eli finds himself fighting against his own family after years spent constructing his empire when his son Pete’s views and ways to run the company clash with Eli.

In Season 2, The timeline jumps two years ahead of the first, focusing on Eli’s grandson Pete. The show revolves around the contrasting views of Eli and his son Pete. Eli leads a risky Comanche raid in the year 1852, Eli has faced many difficulties while making his empire and now is disappointed with Pete.

The plot was set up in the year 1849 when Eli McCullough was 13 years old and survived a Comanche onslaught. But He managed his family’s empire through several problems in 1915. While growing the oil business, Eli and Pete prepare for his birthday party. Eli attempted to flee the Comanche camp in the second episode. However, he failed, and as a result of his punishment, he became one of Comanche’s slaves.

Cesar is tortured by Eli because he suspects Cesar of being involved in the thefts. Cesar attacks Pete, who kills him and buries him in secret. He is remorseful for assassinating Cesar. Eli approached a party of white hunters and informed them that he had escaped a Comanche camp. The hunters got impressed by Eli and assured him that they would defend him in any circumstance. With the help of Jeannie, Eli is eventually able to locate the oil ship, but it is located in Garcia’s territory.

Eli discovers that Ramon has already died and advises Charles to leave the ranch. Prairie Flower is torn between love and duty, as Pete and Maria develop feelings for each other.

In The So Season 2, Young Eli leads a risky Comanche raid in the year 1852. Pete unexpectedly returns to his home in 1915, surprising Eli and the McCullough family. Pete and Eli are compelled to work together in the same year with leads to many contrasting views as both of them have different ways to rule the empire. In 1852, the season came to an end with young Eli being forced to make a life-altering decision.
