The Tale of the Nine Tailed Season 2 Plot Speculation
The story of this Korean drama started by illustrating the main lead characters. It made us familiar with the legend of Gumiho. Gumiho is a supernatural creature which appeared in many Asian legends. Gumiho is destined to guard a certain place and has unique abilities.
Lee Yeon was a 1000-year-old Gumiho who was assisted by his loyal and fellow Gumiho, Goo Shin-Joo. They worked with Taluipa, an agent in an immigration office and the protector of Samdo River. They together used to eradicate supernatural beings who were a threat to the world.
Yeon was on a mission to capture a fox who killed many humans and was now going to marry a man in the form of a human woman. He was spotted by a producer at TVC Station, Nam Ji-ah. Ji-ah was a smart and gorgeous lady.
Somehow, Ji-ah had visuals of Yeon and recognised him as someone she couldn’t remember. She tracked Yeon down and went to his residence. She had doubts that Yeon had supernatural abilities and to cross-check, she jumped off a balcony hoping that Yeon would protect her and the same happened.
As the show progressed, it took us to the backstory of Ji-ah. We discovered that on her ninth birthday, Ji-ah met with an accident in which her parents were supposed to be dead. But, Ji-ah’s parents were actually foxes trying to eat her and she was saved by Yeon. Yeon did his magic to make Ji-ah forget everything but he couldn’t erase the event completely.
After hearing this, Ji-ah believed that her true parents, not foxes, were out somewhere and might be alive. She started looking into supernatural beings hoping she could meet her true parents.
Later through the course of sixteen episodes, the show focused on the relationship between Yeon and Ji-ah. Yeon’s first love Ah-eum died in his own hands and she promised him that she will return as an incarnation. Yeon gave her a fox bead so that he could identify her. Since then he had been looking for her.
He started developing feelings for Ji-ah but tried suppressing them because he couldn’t find the fox bead in Ji-ah.
The Korean drama then witnessed the revival of an enemy from Yeon’s past while he had to deal with his brother. Yeon was then seen fighting the supernatural threat while figuring out the way to keep his love alive.
The official synopsis or brief which could give us a sneak peek into the storyline of The Tale of the Nine Tailed is still not released. Without any precise detail, it would be irrational to predict a plot for the new season of this Korean drama. We can only speculate that The Tale of the Nine Tailed Season 2 could explore more of Yeon and Ji-ah’s love life while Yeon struggling with the threats to the mortal world.
