The Winchesters Season 1 Release Date, Plot, Cast, and More!

Excited about The Winchesters Season 1? It was reported in 2021 that a prequel series to Supernatural, titled The Winchesters, was in development at The CW. The series will focus on the parents of Sam and Dean, John and Mary Winchester, and will be narrated by Dean Winchester, who will be played by Jensen Ackles.

A pilot for the series was confirmed by The CW in 2022 and was directed by Glen Winter. Meg Donnelly and Drake Rodger were cast as Mary and John in 2022, and the series was officially ordered by The CW in 2022, with a planned premiere in October of that year. It was later announced that Ackles would also make a physical appearance as Dean Winchester in the first episode of the series in 2022.

The series will be set in the 1970s and will be narrated by Dean Winchester. It will follow the story of how his parents, John Winchester and Mary Campbell, met, fell in love, and worked together to fight monsters while searching for their missing fathers.

The Winchesters Season 1 Plot

You can check out The Winchesters Season 1 Plot here; In 1972, John Winchester returns home to Lawrence, Kansas after serving in the Vietnam War. There, he meets Mary Campbell, whose father, Samuel, has recently disappeared. John receives a letter from his long-missing father, Henry, and is drawn to a Men of Letters clubhouse where Mary saves him from a demon. This introduces John to the supernatural world, and he learns that his father was a member of the Men of Letters.

John and Mary team up to search for Samuel, who was looking for a magical box that can trap and destroy monsters. With the help of Mary’s friends Latika and Carlos, they track the box to a cemetery in New Orleans, where they encounter a loup-garou watchdog and a demon possessing Ada Monroe. John kills the monster, and the group is able to use the box to exorcise and destroy the demon.

Ada reveals that the box is the only thing that can kill the Akrida, monsters from another world that seek to invade Earth. The Men of Letters are gone and unable to stop them, so Samuel was searching for the box in order to prevent an invasion.

John decides to become a hunter and joins the others in traveling to Savannah, Georgia in pursuit of another lead. Dean Winchester narrates these events and reveals that the Akrida are a threat to all of existence, and he plans to continue searching for more information about this lost chapter of his parent’s lives.

The Winchesters Season 1 Cast

The main cast of The Winchesters Season 1 includes Meg Donnelly as Mary Campbell, Drake Rodger as John Winchester, Nida Khurshid as Latika Desai, a young hunter-in-training, Jojo Fleites as Carlos Cervantez, a confident fighter against demons, and Demetria McKinney as Ada Monroe, a bookstore owner who is interested in the occult. Bianca Kajlich will portray Millie Winchester, John’s mother. Jensen Ackles will reprise his role as Dean Winchester as the narrator. Tom Welling will appear as Samuel Campbell, and Bridget Regan will play Rockin’ Roxy in recurring roles.
