To the Beautiful You is a South Korean drama series based on a Japanese Manga Series, Hanazakari no Kimitachi e, written by Hisaya Nakajo. This Korean show was directed by Jeon Ki-sang. It initially aired on SBS TV from August 2012 to October 2012. It’s been more than 10 years since the first season of this Korean drama and we haven’t still seen To the Beautiful You Season 2.
To the Beautiful You is a story of a young Korean girl, Goo Jae-Hee who lives in the United States. She was being bullied by her classmates for her native looks and she nearly decided to drop out of school. Somehow, she got inspired by a young athlete whom she saw on TV and began idolizing him. She eventually transferred to Korea to attend the same school that the young athlete attended. However, that school was an all-boys high school and surprisingly, Jae-Hee cuts her hair short and frames herself as a boy to enter the school.
The makers decided in 2011, that they will be making a Korean adaptation of a Japanese Manga. The story spanned a course of 16 episodes with an average runtime of 60 minutes. The last episode of To the Beautiful You aired on October 4, 2012. Till then the fans are impatiently expecting the makers to drop To the Beautiful You Season 2. To the Beautiful You Season 2 Release Date
The first season of To the Beautiful You was aired in 2012 and concluded in the same year. It’s been more than 10 years but the makers haven’t said anything related to the release of the next season.

Jae-Hee was attracted to Kang Tae-Joon who was an athlete in the high jump. Tae-Joon inspired her to participate in sports and she eventually shifted to Korea to attend the same school as Tae-Joon. She even disguised her identity as a boy to enter all-boys, Genie High School.
Tae-Joon, when he first encountered Jae-Hee, sensed something fishy and felt suspicious of her behaviour. Jae-Hee was assigned to be the roommate of Tae-Joon. Tae-Joon challenged her to score a goal against him in a soccer game. He would accept Jae-Hee as his roommate only if she is capable of scoring a goal.
Jae-Hee got injured during that match and the school clinic teacher, Jang Min-Woo was the first who discovered her true identity. Jae-Hee’s plead pursued him to keep her secret private.
When Jae-Hee’s older brother, Daniel Dawson came to Korea, he discovered the actions of his little sister. He was baffled after he saw her at an all-boys school. Daniel and Jae-Hee argued in Tae-Joon’s room and Daniel decided to make her leave Genie High School. Tae-Joon overheard their conversation and requested Daniel to let Jae-Hee stay as she helped him regain his athlete career. Even Jang convinced Daniel to trust Jae-Hee.
Jae-Hee helped Tae-Joon to recover from his lost athletic career. Tae-Joon eventually developed feelings for her. Jae-Hee’s childhood friend John Kim arrived from America for a photo project in Korea. Tae-Joon’s childhood friend, Seol Han-Na learned of Jae-Hee’s true identity after she read a yearbook of Jae-Hee from her previous school. She threatened Tae-Joon to choose her as his date or else she would bring out her true identity in front of everyone. Later after an injury, Han-na rejected Tae-Joon but just at that moment, Eun-Gyeol confessed his feelings for Jae-Hee.
Jae-Hee consulted with her teacher Jang about Eun-Gyeol’s confession. Jang brought Jae-Hee, Tae-Joon and Eun-Gyeol for a volunteer job. Tae-Joon revealed to Teacher Jang that he loves Jae-Hee and will confess his feelings for her and Jang admitted that he knew from the beginning that she was a girl.
Jae-Hee encouraged Tae-Joon to talk to his father about his mother’s death. Tae-Joon realised that he had a misconception and his father was not the reason for his mother’s death. This fact boosted his performance in the National competition. Tae-Joon finally confessed his love for Jae-Hee.
Later, there was the gossip about a girl in Genie High School and the committee began searching the dormitories to confirm the rumour. Eun-gyeol helped Jae-Hee escape from the checking and accepted the fact that they both cannot be together.
On Tae-Joon’s match, Jae-Hee faints and the school got to know about her real identity. She planned to leave the school for her good and scheduled her flight on the day of the National Competition. She left a diary in Tae-Joon’s bag and inspired him to jump without her. Surprisingly, Tae-Joon got a victory in that match. A year later in the United States, Jae-Hee was seen hugging Tae-Joon at the end of the episode.
To the Beautiful You Season 2 Cast and Characters
We can’t predict the cast and characters of To the Beautiful You Season 2 because we are not sure whether it may continue from where it left off or would focus on a completely new story. The main lead of the show, Sulli palyed Jae-Hee died unexpectedly in 2019.
So, it is uncertain whether the other cast might return for To the Beautiful You Season 2 or not. We can expect that if the makers continue this show then Choi Min-ho would reprise his role as Kang Tae-Joon and Lee Hyun-woo would return as Cha Eun-Gyeol. Without any official announcement, we cannot say for the other cast member of To the Beautiful You Season 2.

After Sulli’s death, we don’t think that To the Beautiful You Season 2 will continue from where it left. It could completely be relocated with a new story or maybe it could focus on the other characters of To the Beautiful You Season 1.
