Toilet-Bound Hanako-Kun Season 2 Cast
- Nene Yashiro (八尋 寧々, Yashiro Nene) Voiced by Akari Kitō; Tia Ballard: First-year high school student at Kamome Academy is Nene Yashiro. She summons Hanako and hopes Teru Minamoto would reciprocate her affections. In an unexpected turn of events, Yashiro ingests a mermaid’s scale, giving her the Mermaid’s Curse and transforming her into a fish. Hanako eats a scale from the same mermaid to contract her curse and spread its effects, allowing Yashiro to remain human unless she is submerged in water, to satisfy her new wish of returning to human form. As recompense for using the curse to bind their souls together, he makes Yashiro his human assistant. To keep supernatural activity in the school under control, Yashiro collaborates with Hanako to disseminate fresh stories and modify old ones. She can take away a School Wonder’s Yoshiro, which serves as their source of strength; doing so causes her to pass out and see the memory connected to the yorishiro. Yashiro has a skull brooch on her school uniform and two hair clips that resemble magatama. Yashiro is a really upbeat, perceptive, and kind young lady. She reveals to Hanako after receiving the curse that she had recognized what her actual goal had been: she had wanted someone, anybody, to return her sentiments, not Teru specifically. She feels deeply about Hanako and, after knowing about his background, wants to be able to protect him despite Hanako’s constant claims that she is not her type. She is perceptive and sensitive to alterations in his personality, and she has profoundly moved anytime she discovers new details about his previous existence.
- Hanako (花子くん) Voiced by Megumi Ogata; Justin Briner: Hanako-Kun, the seventh mystery in Kamome Academy’s series of seven mysteries, is the most well-known rumor in the school. Hanako is said to be able to be called by knocking on the third stall on the third floor of the girl’s restroom in the old school building; in return for a reasonable payment, people who summon him can have their desires fulfilled. Hanako is the strongest and the commander of the Seven Wonders. He fights with a kitchen knife, two haku-joudai, which are spirit orbs that let him keep an eye on others, and he can call a cloak to protect him from exorcism lightning. His job is to keep an eye on every supernatural being in the school and to keep things in proportion between them and the regular students. Hanako puts on a facade to hide his genuine feelings and is rather serious below while appearing to be playful and mischievous. He takes his responsibilities seriously since God promised that if he did them, his previous misdeeds would be forgiven. He keeps his prior life a secret. He previously went by the name Amane Yugi and went to Kamome Academy. In 1969, he was a second-year middle school student who frequently arrived at school with scratches and bruises from maltreatment he refused to identify. He had a strong love for astronomy and aspired to be an astronaut and visit the moon.
- Kou Minamoto (源 光, Minamoto Kō) Voiced by Shōya Chiba; Tyson Rinehart: Kou Minamoto is a third-year middle school student at Kamome Academy and the second-eldest son of the powerful exorcist Minamoto Clan, who think that all supernatural beings are intrinsically wicked. He wields the Raiteijou, a spear that the Minamoto family has used for generations to expel demonic beings by turning the wielder’s spiritual might into lightning. Kou tries to exorcise Hanako but is unable to do so due to a lack of spiritual strength when Teru, his older brother, gives him the assignment to exorcise all Seven Wonders. He persists and follows Hanako and Yashiro about the school for a bit before realizing that Hanako did not appear to be a supernatural being of evil. To help Mitsuba complete his unfinished business so he may die away quietly, Kou offers to spend the day with him when he discovers him haunting the lockers. In their first year, they were in the same homeroom class, and Kou regrets not seeing him initially. Kou sees Hanako kill Mistuba and is heartbroken by the death of his friend when Tsukasa forces Mitsuba to become a vicious supernatural creature against his will. He is furious and disturbed and swears to become stronger to defeat wicked supernatural beings like Tsukasa.
- Sōsuke Mitsuba (三葉 惣助, Mitsuba Sōsuke) Voiced by Daiki Kobayashi; Kyle Igneczi: Kou’s first-year middle school friend Mitsuba was murdered in an automobile accident. He transformed into a ghost and prowled about the middle school locker rooms, calling out to pupils in the hopes that they would recognize him. Even though he doesn’t recognize him from school, Kou chooses to assist him to fulfill whatever regret was holding him at the school to aid in his passing after learning about his rumor. Mitsuba expressed his remorse at not having any friends while still living and his desire for everyone to recognize him in his request to Tsukasa. Tsukasa determines that Mitsuba’s true wish was to be with his friends forever since he thought his original request was too nebulous. Instead, he grants him this request and alters Mitsuba’s soul, turning him—against his will—into a violent supernatural.
