But, happily, Sean Ellis is cleared of all charges at the end. As a result, the second season of ‘Trial 4’ does not appear to be a possibility. Sean’s storey, after all, had a nice conclusion.
Yes, Sean was not totally exonerated, but he was exonerated in any case, so there’s no reason to prolong this.
However, if there is a significant development in Detective John Mulligan’s murder case, such as the capture of the genuine perpetrator or the finding of incriminating evidence against someone else, the creators have no reason not to document the process and display it to us in a new season. What’s to stop you? It would theoretically be the same case, and the storey would continue.
