Tron Uprising Season 2 is an American animated science fiction television series, directed by Charlie Bean, part of the larger Tron franchise. It is set between the Tron and Tron: Legacy films, and takes place sometime after similar tie-ins Tron: Evolution and Tron: Betrayal. A total of 19 episodes aired from May 18, 2012, to January 28, 2013.

In the computer world of the Grid, a young program joins Tron’s fight against their world’s tyranny.

A young program named Beck becomes a leader of a revolution in The Grid. Beck is trained by Tron to become a great warrior, teaching him fighting skills and mentoring him as he becomes a powerful leader. Beck’s destiny is to lead a revolution to stop the reign of Clu 2 and his henchman General Tesler and to lead his home and friends to freedom.

  • Beck is voiced by Elijah Wood – The protagonist of the series. Beck is a young program that leads a revolution against Clu.
  • Tron is voiced by Bruce Boxleitner – The original protector of the Grid, Tron was supposedly killed by Clu. 
  • Mara is voiced by Mandy Moore – A co-worker and one of Beck’s friends at Able’s Garage. Saved early in the series by Beck, Mara becomes one of the most dedicated believers in Tron’s return and Renegade’s actions.
  • Paige is voiced by Emmanuelle Chriqui – A young program who is one of Tesler’s field commanders. 
  • General Tesler is voiced by Lance Henriksen– Clu’s henchman and the main antagonist of the series.
  • Zed is voiced by Nate Corddry – A co-worker and friend of Beck’s at Able’s Garage. 
  • Able is voiced by Reginald VelJohnson– The owner of Able’s Garage (which is the best repair shop in Argon City).
  • The Grid is voiced by Tricia Helfer– The main setting of the Tron universe.
  • Pavel is voiced by Paul Reubens– Tesler’s second-in-command.
  • Clu is voiced by Fred Tatasciore – The updated version of the original Clu from the original Grid.
  • Bartik is voiced by Donald Faison– A program that joined a task force formed by Paige to hunt down the Renegade.
  • Hopper is voiced by Paul Scheer– A program that joined a task force formed by Paige to hunt down the Renegade.
  • Dyson is voiced by John Glover– A former friend turned traitor of Tron.
  • Perl is voiced by Kate Mara– A female member of a criminal gang who lures Zed into bringing her into Able’s Garage.
  • Cyrus is voiced by Aaron Paul – Cyrus is Tron’s first Renegade.
  • Keller is voiced by Marcia Gay Harden – A scientific program initially employed by Tesler to brainwash the programs of Argon City into obeying Clu.

There is a possibility of new characters being introduced in the new season.

Beck is a young program who becomes the skillful leader of a revolution inside the computer world of the Grid. His mission is to free his home and friends from the reign of the villainous Clu and his henchman General Tesler. Beck’s destiny is to lead a revolution to stop the reign of Clu 2 and his henchman General Tesler and to lead his home and friends to freedom.

Beck will be trained by Tron, the greatest warrior the Grid has ever known. Tron will not only teach Beck the fighting and light cycle skills he needs to challenge this brutal military occupation, but he will be a guide and mentor to him as he grows beyond his youthful, impulsive nature into a courageous, powerful, strong leader. Destined to become “the next Tron”,  Beck adopts Tron’s persona and becomes the enemy of General Tesler and his oppressive forces.

Tron: Uprising aired on Disney XDin the United States from May 18, 2012, to January 28, 2013. And fans can’t wait to know about the second season of the series. There are two feature films on the character Tron and the show is the Legacy of these two films. The first movie was released in 1982 and the other one is in 2010.

There is no official confirmation about another season of the show. There are rumors that the show will come in early 2023 or at the end of 2022 but we hope that we can see another season as soon as possible because fans are eagerly waiting for the next season.
