Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Season 5 is an American sitcom created by Tina Frey and Robert Carlock, American cinema and television artists and comedians who are known for their work in 30 rock showrunners, a comedy program that is considered a masterpiece in the history of American sitcoms. The Primetime Emmy-nominated American series has a total number of 52 episodes which were produced and presented by Netflix and aired from 6th March 2018 to 25th January 2019.
The series is about a 30-year-old woman named Kimmy Schmidt who is hailing from Indiana state of America and is struggling through various hardships and is haunted by some of her past memories to set up a life in New York. The series explores an unseen life of a woman from Indiana who had been kidnapped and trapped by a Reverend named Reverend Richard from her eighth grade from that moment to the next 15 years she is living under an unknown bunker owned by that Reverend along with other three women whom he captured at the same time as her. One day she escapes from /sexual violence and exploitation, all these years her life was concluded with the Reverend and the darkness. But after she discovers a whole new world out there apart from her life in that darkness-filled bunker.
She confronted some people including her friends in Indiana after her escape but their life was changed according to the past 15 years. And her life in Indiana is not digesting so she left for another city in America – the big apple, New York. Where she finds an affordable room and meets with a few incredible people – the landlady named Lilliam, an outrageous roommate named Titus who proudly presents himself as gay, and an upper east side trophy wife also known as her boss lady named Jacqueline.
Her life totally changed when they came into her life, she began to explore all the levels and emotions of her life and finally began to love her life. She began to confront various emotions and decode her past life with humor and comedy.
Also, the series is not a type of experience that you’d think would inspire a comedy, rather the story has the potential to be a blockbuster thriller revengeful story but this series has talked about a lot of things like PTSD and other mental disorders that one confronts. But this inspiring comedy is what the new New Yorker Kimmy Schmidt’s ambition is, by making horrible things to be funny and narrating and addressing them with a high-level humor sense.
