It even gets to the point where a character named Emily discovers she is somehow connected to the invasion. Another theory is that some people are behind all of this and are using the invasion to try to dominate the planet.
The season is now left on a cliffhanger as to who the assailants are and why they are killing civilization. Season 2 ended on such a cliffhanger. As a result, The War of the Worlds fans is ecstatic about the new season.
