Westworld Season 4 Release Date

Westworld’s first season on HBO received the highest viewership ratings for a premiere on the network since the first episode of True Detective in 2014 and it became the most-watched first season of any HBO original series. Westworld was one of the most successful television series on HBO, and after the end of Games Of Thrones, fans are expecting Westworld Season 4 would fill this void in the near future with a fantastical, high-concept thriller series.

HBO has announced that Westworld will be renewed for Westworld season 4 in April 2020, even before its season 3 ended. President of HBO production, Casey Bloys released a statement with the announcement of season 4, stating “From the Western theme park to the technocratic metropolis of the near future, we’ve thoroughly enjoyed every twist and turn from the minds of master storytellers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy.”

Westworld’s first season aired from October 2 to December 4, 2016. The series was renewed by HBO in November 2016 and it was released from April 22 to June 24, 2018. The third season debuted on March 15, 2020, and ended on May 3, 2020. So this clearly indicates Westworld follows a pattern of releasing its sequel season with a gap of 2 years in between.

There are no official releasing dates announced by HBO or the creator, but if the series follows previous trends, fans could expect the release of Westworld season 4 in the Summer of 2022. Westworld Season 4 Expected Plot

Westworld plot was set up in the 2050s, where there are many Amusement Parks operated by Delos Inc, one of which is Westworld which is populated by robots, that act as hosts and are programmed to fulfil the desires of their high paying guests. These hosts are programmed by Benard Lowe, who was also portrayed as the co-founder and head of the Programming Team.

The park’s operators develop storylines for these Hosts to follow while engaging with guests, but when each story is done, the Hosts’ memories are erased to prevent any chaos. But things break out when some hosts got their memory back and became self-aware and try to escape.

In Season 3, Rehoboam, an artificial intelligence system created by Incite, intends to take the fight to the system’s co-founder, Bernard who is also blamed for the Westworld massacre. Season 3 ends with Dolores making the ultimate sacrifice in order to defeat Serac. There is no specific plot available for Westworld Season 4, but we can expect that story will continue from where the previous season left.

The Characters in Westworld are mostly robots, so we are expecting to see most of the previous characters to be included in the upcoming Westworld season 4. The cast of Westworld is enlisted below:

  • Evan Rachel Wood as Dolores Abernathy was the oldest host working in Westworld amusement park. Later she discovers her whole life was an elaborated constructed lie.
  • Thandiwe Newton as Maeve Millay, a host who acts as the worker, but her memories of a former role lead to her becoming self-aware.
  • Jeffrey Wright as Bernard Lowe, Westworld’s co-founder and Head of the Programming Division and people’s artificial software.
  • James Marsden as Theodore “Teddy” Flood, a host in the amusement park.
  • Ingrid Bolsø Berdal as Armistice, a host in the park. She is a member of Hector Escaton’s gang.
  • Luke Hemsworth played Ashley Stubbs, Westworld’s Head of Security, and was in charge of monitoring host and human interactions, and ensuring the safety of the guests.
  • Sidse Babett Knudsen as Theresa Cullen, Westworld’s Head of Quality Assurance.

and other cast includes Ben Barnes as Logan Delos, Clifton Collins Jr. as Lawrence Gonzales, Jimmi Simpson as William and many more. Aurora Perrineau is added to season 4, but her character has yet to be revealed, and she will surely appear in at least five episodes of the new season.
