Young Black Jack Season 2, is a prequel and adaptation of the original manga named Black Jack which was written and illustrated by Tezuka Osamu. It was published on November 19th, 1973, and had 25 volumes and 243 chapters after ending on October 14th, 1983. The manga has inspired TV anime adaptations, several movies, games, and many media franchises over time, and has been successful for many years.
The Young Black Jack manga is written by Yoshiaki Tabata & Illustrated by Yougo Ōkuma. On May 8th, 2015, the series anime adaptation was announced via the 11th issue of Akita Shoten’s Young Champion magazine. The anime is directed by Mitsuko Kase and produced by studio Tezuka Productions. It premiered 12 episodes from October 1st, 2015 to December 17th, 2015.
Kuro Hazama, also known as “Black Jack,” is well known in the medical world. Famous for being one of the best, as well as not having a license, Hazama and his assistant Pinoko save countless lives that other doctors cannot for greed for price; an outrageous price that causes many to view the genius as heartless.
Despite these negative critics, however, none can deny his skill and the struggle that Kuroo will go to save his patients. This mystical medical drama tells the story of the forbidding and mysterious world of underworld medicine as Black Jack risks his life to cure some of the most peculiar diseases which are imaginable, even if it means breaking every line in the process.

Young Black Jack Season 2, set in the timeline of the 1960s, shows the story of Kuroo Hazama who is a gifted young medical student with a dark past who tries to make a name for himself and get recognized in the world. Despite being a medical student, he is a brilliant surgeon and attracts an audience after he completes impossible operations and shows great skills than his formal training would allow.
Hazama commits himself to the world of medicine with his friends, the intern Maiko Okamoto and doctor Yabu. Set against the background of student riots, war, and corruption, Hazama finds himself caught up in a series of circumstances that challenge his sanity as a person and his integrated path toward becoming a surgeon. The choices he makes lead him to become the well-known Black Jack.

Young Black Jack Season 2 Plot
In Young Black Jack Season 2, Hazama continues to accept money from Tachiiri for operating illegally. One day, he comes across a pacific protest and assists a young girl who sprains her ankle. He recognizes her as Eri Imagami whom he treated some months earlier when he relieved cerebral edema on the deserter, Johnny.
Hazama applies first-aid to some of the other patients and sees Aoyama again from that time. Later, Hazama receives a postcard from Eri who is undertaking training with militant insurgents in the mountains of Gunma, and he decides to visit her. Hazama arrives and is shocked to see Imagami suffering from a beating and Aoyama also beaten and tied.
After that Hazama is also taken prisoner, but when Imagami has a seizure from her injuries, the rebel leader restaurant earlier and later allows Hazama to treat her Suddenly, police surround the cabin and start shooting the base to block the rebels with help from smoke. Eri distracts outside force to stop the confrontation, but she is shot.
Hazama tells the dying girl that he will fix her again as she dies slowly in his arms. After his graduation, Hazama repays his debts to Tachiiri who offers him more black market deals, but Hazama doesn’t take it, saying that those jobs will come to him anyway. This is the beginning of Hazama’s new identity as Black Jack.
Hyakki reveals to Hazama that Takara and his colleagues were part of Assistant Director Kagemitsu Daigo’s faction at the university, but when Daigo was involved in funds mismanagement, Daigo’s faction planned to disgrace Meio by making him miss an important scheduled operation by damaging his car to delay him.
However, Meio took ill and sent Hyakki instead, but the mechanic had interfered with the brakes and thus Hyakki was involved in his life-ending accident. Shortly afterward, Meio died of his illness and Daigo became Director.
